Hey guys and girls. A guy I subscribe to on YouTube (Ray William Johnson) said the music biz is looking for the new "Justin Bieber" (bleh, makes my blood boil when people say things like that, "the new Justin Bieber"... Can't stand the kid!) And linked to a better, kid whose apparently in the age range of 13. This kid's got my vote if he can play me some Iron Maiden, Metallica, Judas Priest, ACDC and others of the era. Here are a few clips. One being a Nirvana cover with his band, After The DownFall.

This kids really talented, Justin Bieber isn't ...what an insult to be compared to Bieber!. My Sons hate him too, they said he looks like he's 12 and sings like a girl.

How old are the sons? They've pretty much got it bang on the head. I don't think he's 12 but he got the girliest voice without being a girl yet. I just wanna see what happens when he hits puberty, I think he's getting to that age. So he's gunna lose his girlie singing voice, I'm sure that's why they're looking for someone new. I guess this kid I linked you to is 13, but he's got the voice of Kurt Cobain - how awesome is that.. I'm trying to persuade him to do some Iron Maiden, ACDC, Metallica, etc. As I linked he did some Nirvana, and an awesome job at that. Just Breathe by Pearl Jam that he did is pretty darn good too. If you know who RayWilliamJohnson is on YouTube, I'm sure he's gunna be responsible for this kids rise to fame.

My sons are 11, 13 and 14. I think biebers 17 this year. I've seen the tabloids compare him to Emma Watson from the Harry Potter movies..lol he is very girly looking.
Try and persuade him to sing anything by Chris Cornell. I was reading Soundgarden are thinking of bringing out a new album (fingers crossed). You have great taste in music btw.

Oh thank God they have a brain in their dome and can see that Bieber isn't to terribly great.
Soundgarden is great. Though I don't really collect CD's, it'd be cool to see if they release a new CD or not. I feel I have exquisite taste in music. Not this pop culture, Justin Bieber, Kesha, Selena Gomez, auto tune, software sings for ya, crap. I'm still walkin' around with a stiff one after seeing Iron Maiden in 2008 in concert. It was they're Somewhere Back In Time Tour '08. So they did all they're big hits mostly.. oh man. Aces High still gives me the chills. It was the first song they played but before they started it went black, all the lights were off. The occasional cheer from someone in the crowd. Then Churchill's Speech began; "We will fight in the air..." And it was instant insanity. Just lit up the place right now. Everyone "YEAH!!!" And that opening riff nice and slow, then again "YEAH!!!" as it dropped down and really got going fast. I got chill writing that for you like 3-4-5 times just reminiscing about it."Well it's a shouting match you want, eh? Well game on, AAAH, AAAH, AAH, AH, AH, AH, AA-I'M BEATING YOU!"

New Jason Kertson and After the DownFall. Original song. Sounds like a nice mix of Nirvana and Metallica, with an accent of Alice in Chains.

Great song, I can see a bright future for this kid. I haven't listened to Maiden for years to be honest. I usually listen to Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Queens of the Stoneage, Foo Fighters, Audioslave, Smashing Pumpkins as their on my mp3. My Sons have the same taste in music as me and their Dad thankfully...I really couldn't endure them listening to pop music.

TTL for that. I'm seriously annoyed with today's music. Although some of it I can stand but it'll never be like it was. I mean I'm only 18-19 so I don't know what it was like really, but it wasn't as hard and as fast and as growl-y and all that stuff that some of today's metal is. I like that too, but like Iron Maiden trumps them all. Aces High, The Trooper, Run to the Hills (best freakin' song EVAR) Number of the Beast, Powerslave, Rime of the Ancient Mariner... oh man. But then there's ear bleeding riffs in songs like Metallica's Ride The Lightning, straight head banging metal in their The Four Horsemen.
Oh man.. music is great stuff. I ended up getting that Shallow Grave song. I'm yet to put it on my flash drive for my vehicle."Well it's a shouting match you want, eh? Well game on, AAAH, AAAH, AAH, AH, AH, AH, AA-I'M BEATING YOU!"

Not to defend Bieber, but his audience isn't 12 year old boys, it's 8-12 year old girls & some unhinged cougars.

I admit to loving Hanson when they first hit & at the time I was waaaay past their intended audience but they've grown a LOT since their MMMBop days. But then I think of them as more like The Osmonds or Jackson 5, they're teen idols yes, but they write & play their own music & instruments & outgrew their teenybopper audience but some of that audience stayed with them.
They're all married with children now & still making albums & touring making a decent living.
In fact I dare you to get their new earworm....uh...I mean single outta your head.

If Bieber plays his cards right, he can have Timberlake-esque career but only if he moves & changes with the times & moves past his teenybopper phase.
Or else he'll end up lookin' like this on Celeb Rehab.

He's already not taking himself too seriously by doing that Superbowl Commercial with Ozzy & doing SNL. I also hope the kid isn't supporting his whole family, ala the Lohans or Culkins, with his 'rents as managers or whatever. More often than not that's a sure road to the above pic & Celeb Rehab.
I don't even hate the kid, he's only my radar due to my celeb gossip obsession, but I've never heard a single thing he's done, they don't play him on the radio stations I frequent so I really don't have an opinion on his music. I wish him the best & hope he doesn't end up another celeb statistic like so many others.
Trust me, there's LOT worse out there that your kids could be listenin' to.
As for the kid posted, he's awesome & I hope he too has a great, long, non-Bieber-esque career.Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, the best damn little band you should be listening to!

It's not the person I dislike it's all the hype. I mean he's got that terrible haircut and he just sounds like a little girl with a bunch of equipment backup. The "genre" of music he "sings" is also one of the worst genres out there, IMHO. I can't stand pop music and I hate the hype around it. Justin Bieber this, Justin Bieber that, take a hike with Justin Bieber. I'm sick of hearing about the kid. Personally I don't think he has any place in a commercial with THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS.
Though if I could, I would be doing the same thing. As a few people around me have said, if he's smart about saving what money he has now, he'll be set for life.
I also think they made a movie of his story way to soon. Like dubayoo tee eff, the kid is like what, 16 (and hasn't hit it yet?!) and they make a movie as his growing up and his "success". Eat it and die.
Now if this Jason Kerston kid makes, and continues making the style of music that him and his friends in the band have made already, I'd follow that closely."Well it's a shouting match you want, eh? Well game on, AAAH, AAAH, AAH, AH, AH, AH, AA-I'M BEATING YOU!"
