My Husbands Aunt is a beautician and for some reason always has to let you know her opinion on your hair, pretty rude if she doesn't like it.

My 19 year old Daughter has had all the styles and colors including a year with dread locks, My Daughter is also a Cancer survivor, so My opinion is 'it is just hair'. Well Aunt Deb would be sure to let my Daughter know she didn't like colors or styles often, and comment quite a few times about how thin her hair is. Really she was bald for two years, you really think you need to say that??

Well yesterday I was sitting by my 14 year old niece who is a honor role student, and all around good kid, she recently dyed her hair black, she is a natural dark brown. Well as soon as Aunt Deb was there she had to tell her 'I don't like your hair!' with a 'face' on. to which I responded, Gee Deb didn't your Mom ever teach you 'If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all' with sort of a laugh, turned to Julie and said 'I like your hair, I think it is cute.

That felt so good to say!!!

Also found out later that night, she told my daughter, who is a natural blond, but recently dyed red, that 'She liked her hair'

Good for you! Girls can be so sensitive about how they look, the wrong comment at the wrong time could have devastating effects.

My husband had said to my brother's wife "nice hair" which he seriously meant but we found out years later that she took it the wrong way and has not liked him since. Oh well...we never cared for her to begin with and now he doesn't have to be nice to her...lol!

I think you and your family need to go to Aunt Debs house and kick her old crabby butt.

Wow, does she imagine herself as 'helping' others with her 'professional' opinion? Just amazing, esp. since she's a cancer survivor.
