i was thinking of using the screamteam prosthetics this year for my costume...does anyone have any experience in trying to replicate the pictures on the website? they say that anyone can do it - but is it really possible to get similar results?their customer service is atrocious - three emails in 3 weeks with no response - are there any alternatives/suggestions - i have looked but not found a site comparable -

If you check the archives, you'll find my own dealings with them two years ago, trying to get someone, ANYONE, at Screamteam to take my money and send me a Jester face.
I emailed, called and left voice mails, and I started in August. I finally found someone here who had some regular contact with them. They were able to get me a response less than two weeks from my Halloween party, and I actually was able to get the mask four days shy of said party.
I personally think they make an amazing product, but they act as if they don't want to do business.
The face I got was extremely well made. After a coat of PAX paint (acrylic and surgical adhesive), I let the mask dry for two days, I applied it, used PAX for the edges and my skin, then applied basic foundation cream and some blush. I powdered and was done. I drank (with a straw), ate finger foods, kissed a few cheeks, ran around like a fool, sweated, and made a complete goblin of myself for nine hours straight, and the mask was good to go the entire time.
I learned a few things - I like foam latex prosthetics, I liked the design with it's long nose, protruding chin and sharp cheek bones with no wrinkles, very goblin/joker/imp/sprite usable, and I wish other more dependable and professional companies like FXFaces.com had a version of it.
That year I was so stressed and feeling completely ignored that I purchased fxfaces hag face, because it had the nose and chin, despite being covered with wrinkles and warts.
I got an immediate response, got the mask in a couple days with complete instructions and a very friendly "welcome aboard" sort of attitude from the owner.
It wasn't what I wanted, but I figured I'd make do with a mask from a company that treated its customers well and not someplace where I had to literally have other people drag the owner to me to take my money after trying for two months to get a response.
The ONLY reason I put up with that treatment was I really wanted the Jester face from Screamteam.
They finally got around to sending it, I loved wearing it...
And I'll never recommend them again.
It is two years later, Labor day weekend, and here is another customer who can't get a response from a company selling to the public.
Two years later.
Go to FXfaces.com
Get a foam latex mask that is just as good from a company that cares.

I was curious about the site after reading your post and am now confused why its hard to order? Did you actually place the order and pay and its now been weeks with no email response about your order? Was that what happened 2 years ago for you too Spats? Placed the online order and nothing shipped with no responses?

No, initially I just placed on order online - entered all of my info, finished the purchase and recieved a "This item is currently unavailable" message, even though the mask was a standard item, listed as "In Stock" and it was August.
So when I tried to reach someone, anyone to tell me when they may be in stock, or why they were listed as in stock when they weren't, I got nothing.
I was ignored.
When a member here named Push Eject had a friend of his, a commercial buyer, contact the company for me, he found he could not place the order either and screamteam said they would be updating the website within a week or so.
They also said told this guy there was no way they would have the item.
I could not for the life of me figure out how an item you pour into a mold could not be ready in two months time (sure, next week, okay, but two months hence?) I also was terribly put off by the fact that I had to have a stranger, Push Eject, contact another stranger, a buyer named Brian, to contact them and get any info at all.
That was unacceptable and deeply unprofessional.
I was embarressed and still feel indepted to these guys, who certainly didn't have to bother.
Scream Team contacted me only after I began to make noise on this forum and had other people try to contact them as well, and they contacted me the first week of October and got a mask to me. If I had needed it in August, I would have been out of luck.
That they can't be bothered to communicate with a customer on the status of an item, or keep the stock updated on the website, or let the customer know when an item will be available, all this is reason to never do business with them again.
If you can get an item to a customer, but there will be a delay or a wait of 4-8 weeks, tell the customer.
Don't ignore them.
That is the problem with talent - oftentimes, it doesn't come with a proper dose of good business sense.

thanks for the info - i cant believe how hard it is just to get a response...anything really - it just doesnt make sense - as much as i like their stuff i just can not rationalize giving my money to a company that treats potential customers this way - i will look into fxfaces -

Yeah, thats crazy.
Like, do you want to sell stuff or not? ect. If you cant be bothered dont put up a site, yeesh. Maybe they have too many industry gigs they are catering to and have the mask site as a backup source. Its really not hard to setup a website to show accurate inventory. Lazy owner.

yeah its really too bad - we originally had 5 people that wanted to try it - but with all the uncertainty and lack of anything from scream team that number has shrunk to 2 people still hanging on and willing to try...if only we could get a response - luckily i have looked into a few other suggestions like fxfaces and grimm brothers -

I have ordered many of their prosthetic masks. They are very high quality and easy to apply make up to if you use grease based makeup - don't give up it is worth it. My favorite was the planet of the apes mask - very cool

I was in the same boat as Spats last year... Bought my stuff, and only received part of my order... The rest of the order showed up a week shy of opening night (months after my order).
Great product - TERRIBLE customer service.
I don't suggest ordering from them if you're wanting your piece before Halloween.
