This is the second year that I have placed an order with them and they do not ship. A few HOURS after they started the 50% off sale on the 30th I ordered two props. My order is still processing and obviously now they are sold out. They did this to me before.. They just dont care.

I hate to hear that. I know the local Spirit here had great people working for the holiday. It's a drag to hear their online customer service is not the same. I hope it works out for you.

Sounds like you made an online order. Yet, you seem surprised that you didn't get it. To me, it seems that when you're buying at 50% of sale price all bets are off. The whole point of the 50% is to liquidate the leftover stock. Otherwise, the investor's cash is locked up for a full year... plus there's no guarantee that they will get their $$ back after that year is up, much less make a profit on it. Starting to see the bigger picture, perhaps? Also, if you think about it, they most likely make the most sells towards the last couple of days, and I'd hate to think about trying to maintain an accurate inventory during the rush and hellishly long hours of sales. If it's not in hand at the register, do yourself a favor and don't count on it. But, if it does happen on occasion then congrats and consider yourself lucky.

    Hmmm.
MokkNoir, you make some valid points, but you're missing something. If the web site lists it as available, then it should be in stock. If it's not available, it shouldn't advertised as such. It's not too difficult to maintain and update an online inventory system (and if they're having problems with that aspect then they need some new IT guys), and it's not as though Spirit doesn't know that they're going have a post-Halloween 50% sale. I imagine it's a bit chaotic at the order processing centers, but they should have planned for that situation; it happens every year. Seeing a "bigger picture" has nothing to do with Spirit's order fullfillment problems. Bottom line: Spirit screwed up - again.

    BTW, condescending posts don't help.

Hopefully you wont get charged for it like I did. My cc was never adjused by spirit for the item that was out of stock. Haven't ordered from them since.

Disagree 100%. The products were still listed as available several days after I ordered them and I have yet to get an email or contacted informing me my order is out of stock. Its just sitting in limbo. I understand companies make mistakes, but its how they handle them that speaks volumes about what type of company they are.

Yeah that does suck and it's really disappointing too.

The physical stores were great. I kinda like Spirit, at least going to one can put you in the Halloween 'spirit'. Aside from Spirit stores, there's not that much else to choose from.

I found the last couple of years that Walmart has really reduced their Halloween line and Micheal's is too 'cutesy'

Aside from that, the bottom line is if they advertise it, it's not unreasonable to expect that the items are in stock and will be delivered in a timely fashion.

Have you called them? If you have not, make sure to call customer service http://www.spirithalloween.com/customer-service/

I ordered that day also and received my stuff a couple of days ago.

Ok. Just to through in my 2 cents worth...I have not yet got anything from spirit , but in general I say THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT !

I am amazed that any merchant in this economy / recession would would treat any paying customer like this !

I sometimes think though, customer service has been in decline in this country (US) because WE don't always demand better. Some of us just shut up and take it. An old Irish proverb says "It's the squeaking hinge that gets the oil"

...... Just my thoughts (worth 2 cents ?)
