Wow, thats too bad, as I have ordered from them on 3 different situations and got my order in with no issues. Lucky, who knows, I did place one of my orders on Halloween and did get what I ordered on Nov 7th so it did take a few for the "in process" to change to shipped. I didorder for the 4th time on the 10th and is still in process so I will see of it does turn into shipped.
On a side note I LOVE Spirit Halloween as it is WAY cool to see a entire store for just Halloween!! They give me plenty of ideas ...............

As far as I see it, any company who is trying to legislate that Halloween be changed to the last weekend of October because its more profitable for them,,,, its nothing more than another greedy company after the almighty dollar.

Well Spirit Halloween is actually Spencer gifts and I had the pleasure of working for them part time so I could enjoy my 25% additional discount which turned into 50 and then another 25 on the day after sale. I agree with the store comments, nice people, and if you want your stuff you pay the price. On the flip side though, they are not really concerned about their employees and honestly we're 2 months of labor so I don't really blame them but it did leave a bad taste in my mouth.
However, there were a few additional things I thought were odd if not wrong...
1. Some props are shipped to stores damaged from the previous year, missing parts, and labeled to be sold. I'm glad I worked there because I was able to take things back with no grief.
2. The manager is pretty much guaranteed to not get a bonus based on shrinkage and get this... damaged inventory. FYI, I wasn't the manager so this comment is neutral.
3. When all is said and done, things not shipped back ultimately should either be placed in a locking dumpster or destroyed before being thrown out. Including the candy that they must get rid of. If it were me... give it to the staff dude, you're throwing it out
As for the online experience, I think if you placed the order you should get it but good luck there, I don't see it happening.

The same thing happened to me in 08.I ordered the farmer along with some costumes-got the costumes along with the charge for shipping on all items-no props. This year I did not order costumes with my props and got all items.

no company does anything out of the goodness of their hearts, it's all money based.....money is what makes the world go around......companies dont even donate their goods just to be nice, they plaster their logo all over the donation so everyone knows they donated it in hopes to drum up more business.......

I think the donation think is a liability thing, again another thing wrong with the USA, a litigious country where anyone can sue anyone for virtually anything!.
Yes a company that risks and invest deserves to make a profit or return on investment. I am a small business owner and I expect that. But there is a limit that I have as to what I will and wont do. I dont screw employees, I dont put profits ahead of my morality and value system. I am not a corporate, profit based machine. The is something called social responsibility.
But alas I digress.
I think what I see here by other comments that Spirit may not be perfect company in many ways, and their actions seem to indicate that.

WOW we have gone from Spirit Halloween sucking to the USA being a litigious country, WTH????
Man take a deep breath, relax as if your trying to find social responsibility from a online halloween store from a litigious country then look inside of your own boarders and do share...................
BTW have you seen this from Spirit from our litigious country.....................

I don't like the store either. You should have checked out Halloween Asylum - 100% Scary Halloween Props, Halloween Masks and Costumes. They had everything 50% off and I got some great deals for next year. They sold out fast and now everything is regular price.
My wife and I had thoughts of opening up a store for Halloween. Now, I very glad we didn't go with Spirit. They never said anything about not having to pay for damaged merchandise. I can see getting screwed on that after closing down the store.Last edited by darkmaster; 11-15-2009 at 07:18 AM. Reason: new thoughts
