Unhappy dissapointed by Spiriit this year

I was so excited on Halloween morning when I was able to order the animated countess figure for half price. I placed my order and waited anxiously for her to come, only to see that 3 days later my money was credited back to my account without a word from the Spirit store saying that I was not receiving this item at all. And when I went back to the site she was gone, no longer available. How could they take my money and give me false hope? Only to reutrn my money without saying anything? The spirit store has always been one of my most favorite stores that I look forward to each year, but after this kind of treatment it has diminished my appreciation for this store.
Also I made 3 different trips to the store just to see the countess work and each time I was told there were electrical problems and none of the props were able to work. I hope that next year will be a better experience.

Just throwing in my 2 cents on the decline of Spirit: In stores I was disappointed in the lack of masks (but thats a complaint I have about ALL the Halloween stores). Used to be just a few years ago they always had the best masks, great selections of Don Post stuff and a lot of variety and quality. Now it's just the same old monsters, Scream, scarecrows and political masks. BOOORING!

More importantly is the cheapness of their stuff. I spent about $60 online during the 1/2 off sales and when the box came it was full of junk. A real cheap plastic axe/spear, a cheap paper thin latex mask that was stuck together like it had sat on a storage shelf for 5 years, meat hooks that looked OK but were HUGE almost to be comical, you get the idea. The same thing happened last year. I got a bunch of stuff that looked like it had been in storage forever. Product not even worth it at %50 off.

I also ordered about $90 worth from Halloween Asylum and the difference was amazing! Quality atex masks individually wrapped and placed ON TOP of the shipping box (not crushed like with Spirit), etc.

I've promised myself NEVER to buy online from Spirit again and I'll probably never stop in another store unless they can start selling some good stuff again.

At least they did something for you. I had a broken prop sent to me and when I called them the one I wanted was out. They sent me another at half off upgraded to the faster shipping and told me to just keep the broken one. The replacement was broken as well but as far as I was concerned they went above and beyond what they could have. They have the best customer service I have run across in a very long time.

Now you know for next year if they try to pull that same trick again, pull out your cell phone and have Spirits customer service number on it and call in front of the employees or better yet make them call and give you the phone. I'm still stunned they pulled something like that. Hopefully though those employees will not have a job with Spirit next year.
