I have lurked these forums for about a year now learning how to build props and getting ideas. I had to come on here to warn people about my experience with this place.
I place an order 2 weeks ago for two costomes (male and female). The website claims that all orders shipped within 1 to 2 business days. Fine, right?
As of Friday of that week, we had not received a order shipped email. My wife called and sat on hold for 10-15 mins. They said that the order had already shipped. We then get an email within 10 mins of the call stating that the order shipped. Weird. So.. wednesday of this week we found a package on the door step. Opened the box and it was the costumes. Well, it was two men's costumes. Upset and worried I called Costume Kingdom. I actually timed this call and I sat on hold almost 30 mins. The lady said her name was Shawnda and the she checked and made sure my wife's costume was in stock. They are going to Next day the costume and a return package for the other costume. They would be here friday. I am working outside on the yard when UPS drives by the house. WOW! No package for me. I immediately went inside and called Costume Kingdom. I sat on hold for 15 mins this time. The lady (patty) said that she was sorry and she was just relaying the message from shipping that they did not have the womans costume in stock and just shipped the return package regular ground shipping. I was furious. I asked for the supervisor. She then puts me on hold. 5 minutes later patty comes on and says that she is sorry, the supervisor is out. I asked her how they could run a business without anyone there to make decisions. She says she doesn't understand the question. LOL
I told patty that I would post this horrible customer service experience on the halloween forums. She told me to go ahead.
There you have it folks. Please avoid this place. My wife is running around looking for a costume right now. Our party is in 4 hours!

I saw this and had to comment... First i placed my order with Costume Kingdom, which took forever since the website kept denying my credit card... i finally gave up and resubmitted order in the Morning, Everything went fine with the order i submitted in the AM, I followed up with them on my account to make sure everything was ok. Their website said they never recieved payment although this was debted from my credit card. I tried contacting them for about 4 hours... phone just kept ringing. Finally around 5pm someone answered and confirmed my order was recieved.... So today i got the costume and the broach that was attached was broken... the package had no invoice slip which is typical for online orders and the wig i ordered was missing. I called the place and a very unprofessional women answered and siad they could do nothing other than debit the wig purchase. I asked why they could not overnight the wig... she said they had no more left!!! Definately would never order from here again... Left wigless with a broken costume, I would have rather spent more money and got better customer service and a more organized establishment!!!

I am so sorry you guys had so much trouble! How awful for you. We had a great experience with Halloween Mart and BuyCostumes.com. Very professional and very quick. Also their customer service department were very courteous. I was very leery of ordering online for fear of stories like yours and I was pleasantly surprised. I hope everything turned out okay in the end for you......
