I figure we can list everyone we order from here. In case some newbies or oldies wonder where to find motors, casters, whozzits and whatzits...
I use McMaster-Carr for tons of stuff, and they blow other companies out of the water when it comes to service speed.
I live 90 miles from Atlanta, and if I order before 10am or so, I have the item in my hand by 4:30pm that day.
It can be tough to navigate their site if you aren't exactly sure what you need, which is why it's cool that you can call them and have someone who knows what they are doing help you out.
I digress. Grainger is okay... but not in the same class. We have Grainger IN TOWN and they seem to screw stuff up every time. Online ordering confuses them, and I have been double-billed twice. I got calls for months telling me to come pick up my order, which I had already picked up.
Wilbert, I sell against McMaster-Carr. They are great, but high priced. We are an 153 yr. old employee owned company and I think you will like our pricing and selection. If it is in a hardware store we have it. Try www.bostwick-braun.com If you don't find something or price is not good let me know I can help you out. godd luck, Rick

It did it for me too. I did see one of his text boxes mention that you need internet explorer to view the site. I will not use that pile of M$cr*p, so can't look at his site.
rick, can you get your webaster to design it for everyone? You're losing business if 1/3 of your viewers can't see it. I didn't think there were any sites left that were "exclusive" to IE anymore.
Thanks.
This screen shot (attachment) shows what it looks like in Firefox
McMaster-Carr has a HUGE selection of just about everything you could need. But are priced pretty high. Suggest shopping around a little but there are just some things you won't be able to find except for here.
I have found mcmaster reasonable on 90% of what I need. Some things are priced a little high, but I'll pay it just for a one-stop shop.
I made a killing on 2" copper fittings there, that 1/2 what my contractor pricing was locally.
The main site may be fubar'ed, but the bostwick-braun eCatalog is viewable in firefox. However, there is no pricing and apparently you need a dealer or industrial account to purchase. I would be curious to see the pricing on aluminum.
M-C is priced high, but there is a reason... service. Growing up on a farm and working for a paper company... people depend on the same day or next day delivery for widgets and whozzits.
Grainger isn't bad, but really is outclassed when it comes to availability of stock and delivery time.
I agree about McMaster-Carr's website being a bit tough to navigate. More helpful to go in there knowing what you need. On the other hand, they ship faster than anyone I've used no matter the size of the order. Plus, you don't need any special commercial account. Big or small order, they're willing to sell to little ol' me.... ;^)
