I just purchased this water effect light (from Amazon, alas) and I had a very positive experience with the manufacturer American DJ. The product is well described in this youtube video.

Here is another cool video that compares it to a competitor Chauvet product. I like this one better and I suspect the author kind of thinks that too although he says he likes both.

I learned about it from watching HiRez' pirate haunt video in this thread.
Hi-Rez Designs: Pirates of the Caribbean - 2011 Halloween Home Haunt Display

He uses it to illuminate some treasure, and it looks really cool. I bought it for a similar use in my haunt. It's not for those more budget-minded haunters out there but I think it is well worth the price for the effect. My wife, who really hates my haunting stuff, came in and saw the effect and the first words out of her mouth were "wow!". I plan to use the blue light but I can see using the red light at some point in the future since it looks kind of like fire. (maybe use in conjunction with some silk flame lights). You guys should check it out.

As you can see in the youtube description video, the product comes with an extra lens that allows you to broaden the projection from 34 to 52 degrees. It says to be really careful when changing lenses, but I think I misunderstood the directions (maybe the directions are confusing or maybe I'm stupid) and while jamming the new lens in through the wrong end of the projection tube it fractured. What a bummer. Broken within 5 minutes of opening the box....

After I emailed American DJ trying to find a replacement lens on their website, the customer service rep volunteered to send me a new one free of charge. Wow what a nice company. It makes me feel so much better, even though I'm guessing the cost of the replacement would have been maybe $10-15 with shipping if they charged me.

Anyway, I wanted to tell you guys of this positive experience.

Been checking these out for a awhile. Thanks for the vote of encouragement if the trigger ever gets pulled. Thought of using the red for a fire effect.
