Was going to order from them yesterday and they wanted $20 in shipping for a $50 order and they weren't large items. I said forget it. Is it me or is this kinda high?

i guess it depends on the size of the package.i know i about lost my butt on selling a prop because i underestimated the shipping.it was a large item and shipping was almost as much as i was selling it for.i guess i would just go with your gut feeling on whether you thought it was fair.

I would suggest you contact them directly if you have any concerns about ordering from them. Nancy is a member of the forum and I know from personal experience she is great to work with and is always prompt to address any problems or concerns. I think there are many others on here that would agree.

I'm more than happy to check what might be the issue on your shipping. In reviewing some existing shopping carts in the $50 range, I see one that contains a War Axe prop, which although is not huge it requies a long, wide box. I'm not sure if this is your order, but I'll use it as an example. Some shipping rates are calculated based on dimensional weight of an item, meaning the size of the box rather than the weight. Although this applies to UPS 3-day, 2-day, overnight, etc. it only applies on ground packages when it exceeds a certain size.

So on some items, if it seems off, it is best to give us a call or send an email and we'll check the rate manually to be sure it's correct. Perhaps the system is applying the dimensional weight calculation when it doesn't really need it.

By the way, we have started a 35% off sale today... so please give me a call and I'll check the shipping, hopefully get it to a better rate, and you can take advantage of additional savings!

Now that's what I call great coustomer service!

Shipping rates can get trickey, and that's no one's fault of their own, just the way it is.

That's why I posted this--I knew there was someone on here with them.

Ok went back to site one of the items is no longer on the site. But put other items in cart and it totals $25.40 of clearance items. The shipping still comes to $14.35 and they are not large items? Heres the list:
2X green pumpkin at $3
Graveyard sale sign $1.15
Red, white, blue wig $3
Wiking mask/hat $2
Zombie child costume XL $8.25
Zombie nightmare robe costume $5

seems very fair to me.i know its small items but $15 bucks seems cheap to me.

Chaserbug, thanks for posting the items. I know it's difficult to look at what you're buying at $25 and find the $14 shipping expensive. But what you have to remember is that your items are in our Clearance section, which means they are 75% off our regular retail price. So what you are really getting is $100 worth of props and costumes and the shipping is $14. I think that helps put it into perspective.

If you'd like to send me your city and zip code, I'd be more than happy to box the items up and put them on the scale to double check the UPS rate. We do not mark up our shipping whatsoever.

The main item I wanted is no longer listed on your site. I can do with out the others. I was only buying them because they were on clearance. I don't have that much money to spend on items like this so every $ counts. Glad you looked into it though as now I know I could not afford buying from the site due to shipping.
