I thought the "ice bucket thing" was just famous people being stupid until I finally saw what it was about. I would rather just donate to the cause instead of getting drenched but whatever gets it attention and lets people know about this horrible and debilitating disease is fine by me.

I did this a couple of years ago and it was super fun! I didn't do it last year because soooo busy with new props and missed it :(, but I think I have a handle on it this year so I'm in. Can safely do 20 (using both pre-made and hand made embellished). -Z

Do any of you that got Powdery Mildew plant near or in corn? I was afraid it would spread to my ears of corn so I cut all of the ones with the spots off.

I have not posted in a while but here's my update: This wacky weather has caused some good things and some bad. My JBL seem to be completely unaffected, but my JoL think it's spring again and I have been pollenating females like crazy!. I had only 5 JoL left on my 8 plants, then this crazy weather hit. My existing pumpkins are turning orange and the vines are stretching out even faster and creating more and more little babies! I am overjoyed but I wonder how many of them are going to get big...

I can not thank you enough for the time you are taking to show us how to do all of this. Have been wanting to learn this for the longest time. I already have singing pumpkins but it's just one song and after about an hour of hearing it over and over again, i want to turn it off. Now I can add to the loop. THANKS AGAIN!!!! -Z

I personally am still scared by my three volumes of "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" written by Alvin Schwartz and illustrated by Stephen Gammell. OMG that Stephen Gammell has given me nightmares many times over. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scary_Stories_to_Tell_in_the_Dark#mediaviewer/File:Scary_Stories_to_Tell_in_the_Dark_cover.jpg http://www.scaryforkids.com/pics/stories-to-tell.jpg

Long ago I wanted my dead body to be chopped up and fed to tigers in the wild. Now that I'm older I think that option would only hurt the tigers :p we're silly when we're younger :D Maybe now I'll choose to become chum (for sharks ;). IDK, to me there is something appealing about literally becoming part of the cycle of life.

I am so jealous of you guys with different colored pumpkins. Would anyone be willing to give or sell some seeds? I have not found anything but "Jack O Lantern", "Big Max" and "Jack Be Littles" in my area for years. I want some cool pumpkins like you guys!

I, personally, would gut it and make it into a costume. I find my best scares come from stuff that's not obviously scary, but "well played'. My current best hit at my haunt is my "bush" costume in which I just sit there unassumingly until people pass by and scare the pee right out of them :P You could have a "stuffed animal area/room and be in the costume and when people see it and wonder why this is in a haunt, you jump up and scare the life out of them.

I took a small electric fan and mounted it inside the rib cage area. I then added a few nuts to one of the blades to cause it to be off balanced. Once the prop is hangin by a rope ( in my case a cable) and the fan was turned on, the off balanced fan caused a very convincing struggling effect. It was so good, someone called 911 while driving by my house one night...lol

I have always believed in scaring, not scarring. If someone young seems truly terrified, especially if their D-Bag parent is pushing them into whatever they are scared of, I make it fun and spooky. I say hello or wave to them in a friendly way. I also, for lack on a better word, do a dual haunt. My yard is decorated and maybe has a few scares and that's how the kids go up to TOT. The garage is where all the fun is! But if little kids are in there so scared that they are crying, I won't scare...

Hubby and I are taking family including Spookyone and her monsters to King's Island's Halloween Haunt for the weekend come Sept. This will be much needed family event after finding out that Spookyone will be Grandma come November. So, I will be missing out on the fun. Spookyone is slowly getting used to the idea and is...

Very nicely done. I too made a life size horse and so I understand your hard work. My horse is a rearing up horse. I love it. Check out my pictures of my build. They are similar to your great build. There are not many of us crazy enough to make such big monsters :)

Thanks Z for taking the time out to take the harness pics, great pictures just what I wanted. How did you know that the bride was also of interest. The horse harness looks like it is mainly held up by the white bars and the metel straps are used to maintain the shape of the harness is this correct from what you remember ? The bride in the attic pic is the best I've ever seen. It looks like the bride has no arms and if I remember correctly the face that we see was projected onto a blank face, were the arms projected as well? If you have anymore pics of the harness regardless of quality or significance I would be interested in seeing them.
