Thanks Gobby! One more thing I wanted to add. You typically don't want this to happen where you have these great lights in Red, Green, and Blue and suddenly realize you have a white wash going on. I built one of those old Radio Shack Color Organs as a kid and created an external light box to run from it. My box had RGB bulbs inside and a hand cut flame gobo. (yeah I was a geeky kid). I soon realized everything looked very whitish when projected. Separation is key. :)

While we're on the subject of lighting, remember lighting can be your friend or enemy. You want to use only enough lighting to light the object or scene you want lit. You'll notice with each of the experienced haunter's pictures in this thread that there is a clear delineation between colors and light and dark. These scenes are not just thrown together but painstakingly lit and are extremely impressive. Using a spot light rather than a colored flood light can make a huge difference. ...

This... Seriously though, I'd put some killer lighting effects put a boom out on the front of it, use fog and point it down off the roof at the ToTs. Maybe even use the Old War of the Worlds sound effects of the Martian machines firing their weapons. ...but that's just me. :)

I've used the PAR cans from Cheap Lights: http://www.cheaplights.com/cart/page15.html about $38 bucks, maybe cheaper other places. Nice thing about them is that they are concentrated LED lights, adjustable with just DIP switches on the back for different colors, and will probably run forever and not get hot.

...or just leave them black and they can be the 'live' actor ones that grab ToTs. They won't expect the ones that look like gloves. :)

Buy some of the nitrile gloves at Home Depot or Walmart (paint section), inflate with Air and put those at the top for a visual effect. You could probably fill a few with water if they are the thick kind and place them intermixed with the others. Pretty handy huh? :)

You can do a still image with editing software. I used Pinnacle Studio for my iPad with Box to get the MP4 files back and forth. With Pinnacle, I was able to make a video with a still that projected on a skull, then went to the full motion, and then went back to still for my loop. Worked out ok.

Big boxes are great for turning into a deep freeze with a body and fog inside, or like this one I did as an altar. Plus, now you have storage for large props, etc.

Ok...just tried it in my hot Texas attic where my mannequins are stored and I had ok results. I think I should drape the mannequin in a sheet or something nice, white and smoother to get a better effect. The mannequin's face, while pale, doesn't do justice to the effect. a smoother surface with less depth changes would work better. YMMV

Hey Victor... just downloaded the Wicked Wraith. The zip file contains 2 MP4's for the 'TV', and '3DFX', and 4 scenes for 'Wall'. They also include a blank/black buffer video for placement in between effects which is a great extra and nice touch on their part. The content isn't a heck of a lot longer than the demo video, but for 10 bucks, I'm ok with that. I'm glad they've allowed the downloads at a reasonable price now. I plan on posting a quick vid test of the projection on one of my...

Resurrecting this thread, my hope is 300 that would be great! Unorthodox, I've been thinking about this for months and what if i did a thing such as "For every ten people who come through, we will donate one pound of goods/food to the homeless shelter" Would that still interfere with the insurance?

Also periodically check woot.com for deals on projectors. The Vivitek projectors they are offering right now should also do the trick for a nice price. http://electronics.woot.com/plus/projectors-11?ref=cnt_wp_7
