Just wanted to give you an update. I just finished posting part 1 of my tutorial in the tutorials section. It's located here.

I haven't conquered any of the motorized parts yet, since I needed to build the tomb first so that I could mount the motor and get a sense of how long the rod/arm needs to be to make the motion I'm looking for. But that post is where I'll be documenting the build if you want to follow along.

Just in the process of getting my parts together. Instead of a ground slab, I decided to do more of a tomb like slab, so it will end up being a 2' x 4' box with the slab on top of it. That way I can hide my speakers and a light inside of it, so not only will it slide side to side, there will be some light inside to really draw some attention to it. I've also got to figure out a sneaky way to get a motion sensor somewhere on or at least near the slab.

My pulley wheel from Grainger arrived yesterday, so now I just need to pick up a few other items and I can get to building!

I'll probably document it, so keep an eye out for a post in the prop forum.
  4. Lol! Sound cool! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

I've been thinking of revamping mine to add the bottomless pit look. It's only about 18" deep as it is, but that's more than deep enough to add that...not to mention deep enough to be a pain to dig out a 2' wide hole that deep, and trench for the dryer hose to the fog machine. The only thing I can't wrap my mind around is how to allow the fog to escape with the one way mirror over the top w/o it making it obvious that there is a cover over the top. Meh, we are experiencing technical difficulties in the execution dept. with that idea. Or, more like I know how to do it, but I'd have to start fresh on a totally new design.
  5. Thanks for the pic comment If you like, I can pull it out of the attic and show you some detailed pics. I'm actually planning on a revamp to it, to add a few features this year. So if you are interested, just let me know
  6. I had to stop over and say and introduce myself. I noticed your avie and it mad me smile because that's what I used for my white rabbit prop this past year. Looks like you have some nice stones your working on too!
