A costume practice! Well, aren't you serious about this!
I am trying to think of how women walk. I guess take shorter steps and maybe try some heels. That would change your walk! Might help or hurt-some people are better in heels than others!
The pirate costume hunt continues for me today-but at least I found a good piratey shirt. Hopefully the rest of the accessories come together by this weekend. Are you going to put up more pics once you try the new make-up?

good show! I bought a grey floaty dress - & some grey organza - plan to add floaty sleeves & a longer underskirt - should be good when it's all finished.

    Good afternoon~

The queen of hearts cartoon looked different than I remembered-I didn't remember any gold on her dress. In comparing her to the pic of you in the red dress, I could see how with a few alterations it could work! I ran across this dress while shopping for Halloween costumes on ebay today:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/Adult-Halloween-...d=p3286.c0.m14
Maybe it will help with inspiration! It looks like she just has a tiara on. Yes, I think the little fur wrap you have would hake a fine addition to the costume.
I think that I am getting a little close to Halloween for online shopping, so I will probably visit goodwill for some costume pieces today. Who would think that a pirate costume would involve so much?

    Talk to you later,

    Hey Louis!

I got the picture to open. What a full skirt! I would say if you take away the white collar and add a stand up collar it could really work as the queen of hearts. I'm trying to remember what she looked like in the Disney cartoon. I think she had an apron on with a headdress and a croquet mallet. You could even keep the same dark wig and put the curls on the top of your head! I think you could really have fun with your make-up on that costume!
Well, I just got in from a friend's birthday party and I am exhausted! So off to bed!

    Talk to you later,

    Hello again~

Wow! It sounds like your costumer really puts a lot of work into your outfits! Actually the original red dress could be reused as a queen of hearts costume. Red is a perfect color for that. Add some black and white accesories like maybe an apron or headress and there you go! I just saw the coolest queen of hearts costume on ebay yesterday. Maybe that is why that character was on my mind. Too bad it was for a little girl, I might have been tempted to bid on it! I've been scanning ebay for parts to a pirate costume. I found a great red scarf with skulls on it so far! Hopefully, I will find more soon because Halloween is fast approaching!

Yes, send me a pic of the red dress your friend made! Don't worry, I'm sure it can be made into something else. I've even turned leftover bridesmaid dresses I've had to wear into great costumes the following Halloween. How does sending pictures through this site work? Would you just post a link into a message or something?

I agree with whoever told you to find some pale foundation. That would probably give a nice pasty look. Any foundation labeled pale or light should do. That or some very light powder.

The countess sounds very spooky! Vampires are fun to dress as, but difficult as far as the teeth go. I have always had difficulties keeping the teeth on! I had some of those that just sort of slide over your "eye" teeth. They kept sliding off! Have you found a good brand of vampire teeth?

    Talk to you later,

    Good evening!

Hmm...I could see you as the Queen of Hearts for some reason! That would be a fun character to go as...
I actually thought that you were quite convincing as the swinging granny! I also thought your makeup looked just fine. I don't think of a granny as going over board with the make-up really. I guess her amount of make-up would depend on how swinging she is! I don't have a ton of make-up tricks really. I have found that adding a little water to some bright eye shadow before applying it can give a nice intense look! I've done that with green eyeshadow under my eyes for that nice dead look. So where are you planning to go in the swinging granny outfit this year? Will the granny be greeting the little trick-or-treaters?

Wow... I would LOVE to see the other dress. I think you would be fabulous as a countess. and I love the Renaissance King. I go to the Ren. Faire every year, so it holds a dear place in my heart...

A drop shoulder gown is actually pretty self explanatory- the shoulder seem is "dropped" lower on the arm, off the shoulder. one of the biggest trends of the mid 19th century was the accentuation of a broad, sloping line down the shoulder to a narrow waist, and often following the theme, a widening sleeve at the elbow (though there were many sleeve variations). (Sorry, I am a total civil war nerd). So I was just curious, because it makes such a lovely line.

I must confess, I am not familiar with Charley's Aunt, though my interest has been piqued, and I will investigate further.

As for your corset dilemma, a nice cotton chemise is usually my solution. Along with my hoop infatuation, I'm a corset queen. My steel boned corset leaves terrible marks if I don't have the proper garment underneath. It also keeps the corset clean b/c they are a pain to wash. and of course, it absorbs lots a gross sweat. (ew)

I think you make a fine woman. But you are still very masculine in the Gold (18th Century?) Noble piece. Versatility is a beautiful thing. I see no reason for you to play more feminine characters. I saw a great movie a few years ago about a male actor who only took female roles, but I can't for the life of me remember the title.... On another note of men in dresses, my brother intends to be a "civil war maiden" (his words) for Halloween. Though I'm not sure he is fair in face enough to pull it off, the 5 o'clock shadow may ruin the effect- but he does have beautiful eyelashes.

So. What is your connection to this costumer? Are you a designer? Actor? Do dish. :-)

    Hello~
I took a look at your new "swinging grandmother" pics. Great yellow bloomers. It was fun to see the transformation too. I noticed you were wearing the same colors in the before and after. I guess you are all prepared for this year's Halloween!
I have a question-I noticed on your page that you have "vampire" under your screen name. How do you change that? I guess they give you the ghost title automatically on here?
    Have a great day!
