Hi Terra; Thank you so much for all the wonderful and especially useful info. I have been doing a haunted school for the last 3 years, ( 20 before that with house haunting parties for my kids ), as a fundraiser and this year was approached to do a Haunted Dungeon for a restaurant/pub in their empty basement. I have a fair bit of stuff, ( quite a bit from Spirit ) but it is more geared to a younger group and I want to take it up a few notches, as they are interested in an annual event. I have not been to much into building the props but I see a definite advantage on all levels. If you could just let me know how you find the time to do all this and answer guys like me I would value that more than anything. Thanks. P.S. Is there a tutorial on finding your way around the site and using /finding/posting things ? First time in/on something like this. I am trying, but wind up lost more than found. Great place though !

Hi Terra; Jim here in lovely Nova Scotia, Canada. Saw one of your tutorials today and was blown away by the degree of detail. I joined up on the Forum to be able to see more of your work and ideas and also to hopefully ask a few questions. Seems you have a large following. Nice to know there are more Halloween crazies out there like myself. I am going to try the Boogedy Skeleton Prop first. Did you buy or make the skeleton ?

    Terra,
This weekend I tried my hand at making some tombstones. I made some very very simple ones many years ago and wanted to try my hand at some more realistic ones. They are still in process, but I posted some pictures on my page. Anyway, wanted to say thanks for the tutorials you posted. Had a lot of fun here and plan to mud and paint them this week. Thanks!

Just purchased my Enttec DMX box thanks to the information in your video. I'm using VSA this year for a 3-axis skull and coffin banger. Next year will be DMXorcist.

Hello Terra, I was wondering about your Nosferatu tombstone.May I ask what the dimensions are on it?I am thinking about doing one for my graveyard this year.I have another tombstone question, do you always use DRYLOK on your tombstones or have you ever just painted them with outdoor latex paint?Love your work, always looks so realistic.

Thank you for your help, Daren

Terra, I'm not sure if you had anything to do with getting us the pumpkin smileys, but if you did - I thank you. I just think they are so darn cute and the expressions are much more descriptive than the current/new ones.

Painting Faux Wood Grain: Tutorial

Ever look at the wood-graining tool in the paint section and wonder how it worked?

Yep, me too. Big surprise it was very easy to use and gives brilliant results:

Faux Steel Haunt Panels: Tutorial

by Terra on 01-06-2012 at 10:10 AM
Problem: Your garage haunt has an opening to the outdoors. Two rather BIG openings. You thought tarps would do it but alas, they look awful. You go to Transworld and gawk at the gorgeous vacuform panels. They are at least $100 a piece, have minimum orders and cost a fortune to ship. What to do... what to do? Why... get the old standby - pink styrofoam, of course.

Doc Holliday Tombstone: Tutorial

by Terra on 12-22-2011 at 03:23 PM
Tried a couple of new things with this western-themed tombstone and also discovered a cool new trick: exterior up-lighting! This solves the problem of running separate lighting to your tombstone. New also is the use of an embedded portrait. Many thanks go to Big Nick for his advice on how to make these waterproof. The stone's dimensions are 33 3/8" tall, 29 1/2" wide and 12" deep. This is a medium to large stone.

Blackbeard's Tombstone: Tutorial

by Terra on 11-24-2011 at 04:25 PM
JustWhisper was my Secret Reapee and she had a wonderful 'like' - pirates! Always made a tombstone for my SR's gift and was thrilled to have the challenge of making a pirate tombstone. This is a tutorial of how to make your own. Note: This is a small stone design because it had to be shipped to JustWhisper. You may want to scale this larger for your graveyard. The stone's dimensions are 28" tall, 17" wide and 13" deep.

Build Outdoor Monster Props: Tutorial

by Terra on 08-08-2011 at 06:50 AM
Ever wanted to build an outdoor monster prop but got stuck on how to make it look like a monster, be portable... or make it weather proof? Yeah, well me too But, really... really wanted to make a Demon Horse for the graveyard this year. It's amazing how desperation makes ideas pop into your head.

How about the foam tombstones we all make. They are tough, lightweight and handle the weather great. Why can't you follow the same procedures? Turns out, you can somewhat. This tutorial
