Thanks for the reply I currently have 1 dmx dimmer pack.It has 4 channels I was planning to what you was saying. The only thing im not going to do is put each color on a channel. I can't figure out how to get the lights to flash with the music. How does that work? I can make my lamp come on now lol but not blink or dim.Thanks for any help you can give me.

to do that with dmx you would need one dmx channel for everything you wanted to operate independently, so for that you would need one per tree, to cut back on channels you can do them in groups so 2 or 3 trees went on and off together. the tree in the middle you would string multiple strings of lights in different colors and then put each color on a channel or each string on a channel depending on how many you have. each channel off a dmx pack is simply like a computer controlled outlet so what ever you want to turn on or off you plug into a channel and then using software like vsa you would program what comes on when. how many things you can do depends on how many dmx packs you have. what dmx stuff do you currently have?
