Finally, October is here! It's time!

The kids walk by my house on their way to school so I was out late last night putting up the countdown sign and a few subtle decorations to greet them this morning!

This weekend was productive in a random sort of way.

I started Saturday, like most folks, catching up with household affairs after a hectic work week. While standing in line at the bank I overheard a conversation from someone who sounded like a contractor expressing concerns over how no one, and he meant no one, was extending credit anywhere. Folks with million dollar homes couldn't get a line of credit. Everyone wanted cash up front.

I don't start decorating indoors or out until October 1, but I have moved all my stuff from storage to my staging area in my home office room and still continue to add to my collection of goodies. I'm having a tough time getting in the door to the room - good thing I haven't started building the larger props!

OMG ... the fun ride is beginning ...

I spray painted my PVC flicker candles; they shoud be dry by tomorrow and I can try them out. I'm using a beige color paint to simulate a tallow look in the light of the parlor, which will be a dim yellow.

Turns out, the Great Stuff I cut off the ends of these reminded me a great deal of toadstools. At first I thought they would look good in the graveyard, but then it occurred to me I could construct a dead rose centerpiece in...

It was quite a shopping spree today.

Stopped by Salvation Army and got more frames and jars. I went ahead and framed up the last of my pictures. Combined with my store bought pics from previous years I think I now have plenty for static ambiance.

Next stop was Dollar Tree. Several threads here had mentioned some items that I might be interested in - and I was! Picked up 2 barbed wire, 1 skull doorhandle cover, 3 packs sticky eyeballs, 1 yucky ball, 4 2 pack LED...
