  1. It's nice to know your daughter is doing well in London.

My username is derived from my second name, Severynn (Sever-rin). My grandfather was Polish and in the RAF in WWII and after the war, he moved to England. The other part of my family is Russian and English mixed, but 'Yakobovickh' (Yak-o-bove-ik) is often mispronounced.
  2. My daughter is a little older than you (23). As we live in the countryside, she found that she had to move back to London to get a good job after doing her A levels.
Of course we were sad when she left, but I'm glad to say she's doing great, keeps in touch regularly and still comes home at weekends whenever she can.
It's a shame that there aren't enough kids locally to make it worth your while doing a haunt, but it sounds as though you have a lot of fun at your Halloween parties!

I was wondering where you came up with your forum name? It's quite unusual.
  3. I'm going to go with the idea of Mothman Prophecies and perhaps the Hammer version of Dracula. I'm going to show him Jacob's Ladder, Corpse Bride and The Village, too (I already have those three.) Thank you for your recommendations!

My dad used to scare me with this devil mask when I was small; he was really funny about it and really quiet when sneaking up on people. Now I do the scaring; I have a demon mask that I put in his work van, his room or hanging above the door when he comes in from work, it never gets old!

I still live with my parents, I can't afford to leave (although I think I love them too much to be ready to leave yet). Besides, I get to leave scary masks around the house to frighten them.

That sounds great for the kids who live near you; we've never done anything like that. We live in a secluded little close and not many kids live here.
  4. I'm glad you had a pleasant surprise in seeing how many UK members we have. Of course, some are more active on the forum than others, but we do have a fairly reasonable number.
I have been a fan of all things horror ever since childhood, when I would sit with my father watching the old classic movies on TV (No video's or DVD's back then)
when I married and had children, my wife would take them trick or treating, and while they were gone, I would dress up and give them a scary surprise when they returned!
My children are grown up now, and I started my haunt about 5 years ago.
We have around 100 or so TOT's each year and my daughter still loves to come home every Halloween to join in the fun!!

Any luck with choosing a movie yet?

    Kind regards,

    Baron S.
  5. Hello; I live on the border of Surrey. I never expected to see many English people on the boards because nobody over here seems that interested in Halloween except for the younger generations. I guess part of that might be the increasing crime levels in and around certain areas though.

What draws you to Halloween? Maybe that's an obvious question, but I think there are so many different ways in which people can be drawn to Halloween.

Thank you for your message; I will see you around the boards.
  6. Greetings and once again welcome to the forum.

Where abouts in England are you? We have members from pretty much all over the UK..I'm in Wiltshire, although I'm originally from London.

feel free to drop me a message anytime you fancy a halloween related chat.

Hope to see you around on the forum.

    Kind regards,

    Baron S.
