This is what I struggle with as well, for lack of a better way to put it. We've been doing a haunt for over 20 years and we've developed a loyal following. We now have older teens and young adults who come by and tell us they've been coming to our house since they were young. Parents tell us how much they like coming each year and how they appreciate what we do to give kids a fun Halloween. I think of the void we'd leave if we just stopped doing it so hopefully we can scale back gradually and...

Thanks. I thinjk it was like $10.00 or somewhere close. I'll put a bat or a crow in it, something creepy.

Thanks Ana! I just happened to walk by this easel and figured I could use it. It works perfectly.

Doing little accent props for our witch house. Bought an old book from a thrift store. Aged the cover with paper mache and some paint/dry brush. Printed a couple spells off and stained the paper with a coffee filter. Set it on the easel I got on clearance from Michaels and it came out pretty fair. This will sit someplace in the main room of the haunt.

Good post and one I identify with. We had actually planned to scale way back three years ago. I was pretty much a one man set-up/tear down crew, and while we had ample help working the walk through haunt on Halloween, come 11/1 I was tearing down all by myself and it got to be a chore. Along came fellow haunter and forum member "lewlew" who lived not too far from me and who's own awesome haunt was on hiatus. We agreed to do a collaborative effort back in 2014 and while it took up less real...

Picked up a neat cage, a wrought iron easel that we'll use to hold a spell book, and some color changing led tea lights. All from Michaels.

Fine looking mask. I'm a fan of TOT Studio's stuff and have/have had a few of their masks over the years. Would love to see a close up pic of the face/mouth.

I'm putting this info out here for anyone who may be holding gift cards that can't be redeemed. Another forum member who has requested to remain anonymous, shared this with me. If you've done business with HA in the past several months, you, like myself, may have noticed your credit card bill or paypal invoice listed Action Figure Planet instead of HA. I knew that they were into action figures and looking to start this venture. A google search revealed a facebook page for AFP and there are...

Yup! The center mask will be the cauldron witch. One of the others will be holding a spell book and the third will have something in her hands, possibly a lantern/skull. We plan to animate one so the head goes back and forth. The mask stands were actually purchased from Spider Hill Prop Works a few years back but I no longer see them on his site. You can source the parts and I made a few of my own. Round wooden disc from Michaels, one of the Spider Hill pvc mounting bases, a half inch to one...

Our two new witch masks arrived today. They are from DSS (formerly Dark Side Studios). Paul did a fantastic job on the paint, detail, hair, everything!

With the arrival of our two new witch masks from DSS (Dark Side Studios), our coven is taking shape. The center witch is from Death Studios, while the two on each end are the new additions. Excellent workmanship from Paul at DSS

Love the cat perched on the door lol! Halloween is def a year round thing here too. We've been working on small projects since last November and just completed our floor plan for this year's haunt. Different theme so different things that need to happen. I love working on stuff throughout the year. Makes the time go by faster until the big day!

We live a block away from a busy elementary school so we get the buzz going a few weeks before. We normally put our cemetery fence and columns out the first week of October. We'll add a couple things each week, usually inexpensive tombstones, or props that can be secured against theft, etc. If we do the cemetery scene in the yard display, we'll set it all up a couple days before with lights, etc but any expensive props don't go out until Halloween day itself. Our haunt structure goes up a week...

Thanks! I think it's one of our favorites from last year. Lewlew nailed the lighting with a small blacklight spot. The mask and costume really popped in the darkened room. He got a lot of great reactions from guests when they walked into the last room!

The front yard display portion of our haunt will be a witch forest scene. There will be a coven of three witches, one stirring a cauldron, and some movement on at least one of the others. We'll have a couple of tombstones, tree stumps, skeletons, rats, bats, toads, etc... Should be a nice, creepy witchy scene for folks to look at before they make it to the walk through portion

Hi...Glad you liked my little wall. There's no tutorial but there are some pictures in my props and mask album. Basically I adhered the blucky parts and additional items with some foam/plastic adhesive to some styrofoam (plywood would work too. I then filled gaps the with great stuff and spray painted when the foam was dry. The back and sides are painted with latex because I didn't have enough parts to finish. Since it's at the entrance to my underworld I've toyed with the idea of painting an image of a demon hand coming out from below.

I've read about your pneumatics..but I wasn't able to find any images or video whern I checked your 2012 album. I am really considering doing the Casafear groundbreaker this year. I have a picoboo and compressor, so I've only got a few items left to go. Did you use 2" or 3" stroke cylinders? What bore size?

About that political thread, for what it's worth, I don't think you had anything to apologize for. Didn't do anything wrong. But what do I know?

No, I didn't think I could do a better job then Tara. It's basicly the same thing as her hell hound just a diffrent shape.

    Again, sorry for the delay.
