If you live close to the store, I would hold out for sales and better coupons. If it is a chore to get there, then yeah use the 20%. A lot of there stuff will get marked to 30% well before Halloween

No age is too old and no costume is required... Since the older ones usually show up late, if they compliment my props, I give them extra candy. I can't see how you can keep the spirit of Halloween alive if you are turning people away.

It's funny, when you look at the parts and motor to something like this, it looks easy to build. Then if you think you want to try and build one, and you get all the pieces and start to put one together, it just doesn't quite work out the way you want it. To be blunt, NOTHING WORKS RIGHT, then you buy one from the maker which assembles in no time flat. I hate that. :p

I haven't had to deal with the issues mentioned above. I've had the pack of teenagers show up while I was tearing down and I stop and chat with them and give them candy...no, they aren't necessarily in costume, but I don't see that as a bad thing. I haven't worn a costume myself in over ten years. I figure if you have that conversation with them it becomes more personal and they're not going to screw with your stuff...plus its just a nice thing to do. If I felt I needed a security presence...

I agree with the dad on this one. (not that he grabbed you, but that he was pissed. They weren't at your haunt and kids running in costumes is just asking for someone to get hurt. Halloween doesn't give you a license to terrorize people.

I'm not using fishing line for the ghost to hook to. I will take a picture to show you what I use. It is black braided twine which stretches enough to handle the distance I have from one end of the yard to the other, about 90 to 100 feet with a 4x4 post in the center as support.

I agree, the OSB aint that pretty up close. But Halloween ain't about pretty. I built mine six years ago and after a couple of years in the garage, it's spent the last three outside year round in wind snow and rain and it still gets the job done at Halloween. That said, some day I will build another one, but that's because I want one that rolls and is much lighter.

One question kids. What kind of projector works best but not at a crazy price ? Also I saw that there is a material used that will go in front of the glass. What are they talking about and where can I pick this up ? All help is needed I've seen some complaints out there and don't want to get ripped off. Thanks.

I miss the good ole days when Big Lots would have a ton of leftover lights at 75% off and I could fill my shopping cart with them. Now they cost twice as much and never make it to 75% off...and they had Bluckies for $7.00 .:(

There is nothing wrong with plywood tombstones. I've sandwiched scrap 2x4s between sheets of plywood and it works great...more durable than foam too. As for anchoring, the pvc/rebar is a fan favorite around here. You can do it with plywood and even store-bought foam tombstones by gluing the PVC on the back. Use two pieces of rebar and pvc to keep them from spinning around. Unless you have your tombstones out for a couple of weeks, details are overrated. They make cool picture to show...

I have four outlets on the outside of my house. Two in front at 10 amps each and two in back at 15 amps each. I use them all for all the lights and props I run.

Thank u for being so blunt. I asked him that I forgot to mention they r into zombies and day of the dead kind of stuff. So I'm thinking she will love the prop. I spoke with him a few moments ago and he said she will be so excited to have something like that.

Corpsesnight started a thread Prop Showcase: Breast cancer story in Halloween Props
Well a good friend of mine at work had informed me that his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. He had been upset for a few days and I decided to ask him what she was into (hobbies ect..) not knowing him and his wife were Halloween lovers as I am. So I decided to build a prop for her. The wife and I worked on it for a few days and finally finished. He has no idea I am makeing the prop for her. I would like to know what you guys think of it. Be up front with me about it. Thanks guys

A few years ago I had my service upgraded from 100 Amps to 200 Amps although I really think it's only going to get 150 Amps. Plus I had a bigger breaker panel added. I then wired up outlets in the eavees and shed. So I run at least 25 outlets (7 or 8 circuit breakers) when the holidays roll around. I need to add more

Hi...Glad you liked my little wall. There's no tutorial but there are some pictures in my props and mask album. Basically I adhered the blucky parts and additional items with some foam/plastic adhesive to some styrofoam (plywood would work too. I then filled gaps the with great stuff and spray painted when the foam was dry. The back and sides are painted with latex because I didn't have enough parts to finish. Since it's at the entrance to my underworld I've toyed with the idea of painting an image of a demon hand coming out from below.

I've read about your pneumatics..but I wasn't able to find any images or video whern I checked your 2012 album. I am really considering doing the Casafear groundbreaker this year. I have a picoboo and compressor, so I've only got a few items left to go. Did you use 2" or 3" stroke cylinders? What bore size?

About that political thread, for what it's worth, I don't think you had anything to apologize for. Didn't do anything wrong. But what do I know?

No, I didn't think I could do a better job then Tara. It's basicly the same thing as her hell hound just a diffrent shape.

    Again, sorry for the delay.

He is about 3' tall standing. I got him at wal-mart back in 2001. I had to break him in several places and glue him back together in order to get him to bend over.

Sorry for the delay. I am having a heck of a time with personal notifications. I think I sent a reply to myself instead of you.
If you have any questions please ask.
