I tend to put props out of harms way. Last year a coworker showed up a couple nights before Halloween to show them my haunt and his friends just went right past the fence into the front yard...I had to "kindly" ask them to get out of the yard because of all the things that could hurt them, not just them hurting my props. That's pretty much been the only time I had an issue....other then folks trying to put there toddler on my horse to take a pic. They don't seem to comprehend that if their...

It has been my experience that LED's "hold" light while regular C7s & C9s "radiate" it in addition to your comment on direction. BTW: If you are looking for them, Modern Display in SLC carries them individually too. I don't know the costs though.

I would want their cash register at the end of the day...although with everyone using checks and credit cards, that might not be worth it.

If by decorating you count props and masks and heads scattered around the house, then yes, I decorate inside. I don't have a party so there's no sense of urgency to set up anything inside, plus I'm so busy with the outside, there is no time for the inside.

I picked those up last year. I was hoping they had different designs this year. They also have other statues that are great for Halloween, but nothing new this year. It is a great place to check out and I don't pay full price for things there as there is always a sale around the corner.

I've used pallets for coffins and tombstones and old fence for coffins and a shack for my cauldron creep. I came across more fencing after Halloween and plan on adding a shack for witches to this years haunt and if I can come up with enough pallets and cornstalks, I will make fencing similar to what jdubbya did for his maze. Never turn down pallets or fence. The beauty of both is that they can be stored outside and they only look better as a result of that

Thanks for the lead BobbyA. I'll see if I can reach him so we can go from this point on. Would like to build on this thread to show how to do something like this so us under-educated prop-builders, like me, can learn from scratch just how to make something like this work.

Hi DV, I hope I did not miss lead you.. what you are missing is not the power... the power is connected to a controller that tells the servo what to do. The servo is powered by that controller board. I use a SSC.-32 hooked up to a computer that tells the servo what to do. this runs 32 servos and is to much money for one bird. you need a simple servo board with the ability to be programed with random left right servo moves. do not get discouraged, once you learn a little more about...

Yep just a test for now . I figure the rod will take up all the room and I might half re-drill the hole again to open it more so it will not bind when it moves.

Should have shown this before. Tweedy in pieces....I drilled a 9/64 hole through the spine of the body and removed the head from the neck. The jaw pops out and the bottom part of the head unscrews from the top. Here is where I ran the wires to the eyes. He is coming along. Any questions please feel free to ask.

I don't think there are laws that say Halloween hanging props are hate crimes, however depending where you are, things like simulating lynching and burning crosses might carry more of a message to some than "Oh, it's just a Halloween prop." You really need to know your audience before you put things up.

Placed my order today Fletch. Looking forward to delivery. I already have the LED eyes in place and have tested them. They look good. Here are some shots of the eyes. Two 5mm Red LED 12VDC 20m A1.5 mcd with integraded resistor for the eyes. One 330 Ohm 1/4 watt carbon film resistor to connect positive and negative sides of the LEDS and a 9 volt battery.

Depending where you are, the hanging body can be viewed as a hate crime, In theads like these, there isn't a "live and let live" attitude, it's more like a "I can do what I want and if you don't like it that's your problem" attitude. I know haunters who's goal isn't to haunt, but to use their haunt to offend. It just doesn't make sense to me why folks go out of there way to push buttons.

Hi...Glad you liked my little wall. There's no tutorial but there are some pictures in my props and mask album. Basically I adhered the blucky parts and additional items with some foam/plastic adhesive to some styrofoam (plywood would work too. I then filled gaps the with great stuff and spray painted when the foam was dry. The back and sides are painted with latex because I didn't have enough parts to finish. Since it's at the entrance to my underworld I've toyed with the idea of painting an image of a demon hand coming out from below.

I've read about your pneumatics..but I wasn't able to find any images or video whern I checked your 2012 album. I am really considering doing the Casafear groundbreaker this year. I have a picoboo and compressor, so I've only got a few items left to go. Did you use 2" or 3" stroke cylinders? What bore size?

No, I didn't think I could do a better job then Tara. It's basicly the same thing as her hell hound just a diffrent shape.

    Again, sorry for the delay.

He is about 3' tall standing. I got him at wal-mart back in 2001. I had to break him in several places and glue him back together in order to get him to bend over.

Sorry for the delay. I am having a heck of a time with personal notifications. I think I sent a reply to myself instead of you.
If you have any questions please ask.
