We normally get around 600 TOT's and most of them are from other hoods. I also know that most of them would not have TOT if they just went in their own streets, that is to say their own neighborhoods are either unsafe or the residents don't give a damn about Halloween (or much else for that matter). I love to see throngs of kids, even teens, from other neighborhoods and we give them a great Halloween experience. Many of their parents thank us for putting on our haunt and they come back year to...

Though I love Spirit Halloween, I don't care for their animatronics. They're pretty cheesy and cheap in quality for the price you are paying. For animatronics and high quality props, I love The Horror Dome. They have some stuff for around the same price as Spirit Halloween, but better quality. It's worth spending the extra money for their animatronics, they are better quality and look really good. I prefer Spirit Halloween for smaller items, basically everything but Animatronics. Horror Dome is...

I agree...that's why I don't have a ton of detail on mine. I am thinking about plastering the back of mine with all the stickers I have accumulated from running hall and full marathons. I think that would be appropriate for a funeral carriage

Has anybody built a four bar bodyslinger using a regular pneumatic cylinder? If so, what diameter did you use? Does anyone know if the cylinders monster guts sells will get the job done?

I was staring at all my unfinished props in the garage yesterday and thought about just leaving them all unfinished and changing my theme to nekkid Halloween. Then people could just see all the inner workings of the props. No monster mud, no painting, no clothes, ....nothing but the mechanics and framework.

Yea, Rockabilly, Pinup, Vintage and Punk clothing usually is on the pricey side. Thrift stores are my best friend for putting together Vintage/Pinup outfits :) The more unique stuff like the side show ladies skirt, I know I wont find many places so I am usually willing to save for those things.

Final follow-up to the corpsing. I have used a darker base color to go over the pumpkin and in doing so, from the pictures below, the pumpkin is looking pretty good. This has added depth to it. I also used a flat black paint to fill in the eyes, nose and mouth. Not bad. If you feel there is something else needed please let me know. Being this is the first time I feel I've missed something, thanks and on to building the body.

Long day, some beach time but have now finished painting, finding the paint at Home Depot, an off color but goes well. Might want to do some high lights here and there on him. So let me know what you think. I'm thinking adding the body to him so he can hang out over the cemetery entrance.

What everyone else has said in this thread. Just drill a hole, depending on the thickness of the stone, 1/4" to 7/8" in diameter, about 4" deep, some 6" deep, and drill two holes in each stone about 2" from the side. The rod, which can be a wooden dowel or rebar should good into the ground at least 6". To some it seems deep, to others not deep enough. I know some who go 12". It's what you want. The stone will stay put barring a hurricane, as we say down here.

LET THE CORPSING BEGIN....from here I have taken cotton balls, and unrolled them. I have taken the Mod Podge and with a brush, covered the front of the pumpkin with the sticky stuff and then laid the cotton over the top. I then use the brush to spread more podge over the cotton to begin to create that corpse effect. Here are some pictures, to give you a look at him/her. Front part only at this time. Tell me what you think. Have any questions or think I can make him/her look better, LOL. Let me...

For those who have been in their stores, do they have any decent scary clown masks? The last few years they've had some nice ones that are priced right and comfortable to wear. Our store still isn't open so just wondering. TIA

I agree. Having another experienced haunter to collaborate with is a dream come true. I know had it not been for Mark (lewlew), I would have downsized big time last year and likely not ramped up again. Fresh ideas make it fun and interesting. We are both very detail oriented and a big part of the fun is setting the scenes just right and making distractions for the main scares. I think we may be in this for one more year at our home before we attempt something on a larger more public scale (hint...

Thanks! This is a whole new avenue for us. I've never done a circus/clown theme. The idea came from my son who suggested it after watching American Horror Story "Freak Show." We're starting from scratch as far as props, costuming, masks, etc but it's coming together nicely. Having built the structure last year, we only have to rework the halls and scares. We'll also be replacing the front yard cemetery with an arcade theme; three "booths" with circus character attendants. so much more but I'll...

Paper cut into 1" to 2" wide, 10" long strips. I wrapped them around the stem which had been built up with tape. They were dipping in the Mod Podge and now I am allowing it to dry before putting a coat of paint on it. Still want to corpse him what do you think ? I don't need movies to get me in the Halloween mood. For the most part, I don't even like horror movies and it I do watch them, it has more to do with getting prop ideas. I'lll be watching too much football over the next two months to worry about Halloween movies. If only Halloween was in March when there's nothing on TV except basketball and hockey

As some of you may recall, last year I had the good fortune of teaming up with fellow haunter and forum member lewlew on a collaborative haunt. It was an epic success, and there was little doubt we would attempt it again this year. Here is a thread to last year's build; http://www.halloweenforum.com/general-halloween/139958-roads-end-eerie-manor-haunt.html Last week we began the mock up of the structure for this years theme, which, while yet to be named, will be haunted...

Hi...Glad you liked my little wall. There's no tutorial but there are some pictures in my props and mask album. Basically I adhered the blucky parts and additional items with some foam/plastic adhesive to some styrofoam (plywood would work too. I then filled gaps the with great stuff and spray painted when the foam was dry. The back and sides are painted with latex because I didn't have enough parts to finish. Since it's at the entrance to my underworld I've toyed with the idea of painting an image of a demon hand coming out from below.

I've read about your pneumatics..but I wasn't able to find any images or video whern I checked your 2012 album. I am really considering doing the Casafear groundbreaker this year. I have a picoboo and compressor, so I've only got a few items left to go. Did you use 2" or 3" stroke cylinders? What bore size?

No, I didn't think I could do a better job then Tara. It's basicly the same thing as her hell hound just a diffrent shape.

    Again, sorry for the delay.
