Dark Water (2005). Not my favorite, but better than many reviews I've seen.

Mad scientist lab and drink / hors d'oeuvres location. This will give people a reason to go in, and can make it memorable with enough little gimmicks. Platters of goodies done up as body parts / bugs / alien bits and pieces - placed and labeled all around the lab. Ice chest or two with beverages - perhaps styrofoam coolers with your fog channeled into backs of them, to have fog creeping out - people have to reach into the fog to get their drinks. Maybe some motion / sound activated props...

Holy cheese! That can get pricey quite quickly - a thought that came to mind is scrap wood and chicken wire (assuming these will all be static props). A staple gun will keep the chicken wire firmly attached to the wood, and is easily shaped. Should be fairly weatherproof as well.

Something I'll use as body filler in props are "pool noodles" - they fit nicely over wood, rebar or pvc frameworks, flex beautifully, cut easily, are (basically) carvable, have a great curve to them, nicely replicating the diameter of arms and shoulders, and are weatherproof by design.

Costs? So many, and so worth all of them. Money? Not as much as I could have, more than anyone understands (present company excluded). Time? More than I ever intended, yet not nearly enough to get everything done. Hair? Pulled. Extensively. Not bald yet. Skin? Burned, cut, pulled, sanded, glued, painted, polished, waxed, frozen, stained, strained, grated, ground, buffed, hammered, pierced, branded, pinched, pulled, twisted, banged, bruised, and de-follicled...and more I'm not thinking of, I'm...

There's something wrong with me... I saw that great hill with the rope hanging down (the body is just bonus) and thought, "That'd be a GREAT giant swing! Get a running start, jump on, and get huge air beneath you..." I'm a sick pup.

Corner lot! Opportunities! Something I've done a couple of times (to try and come up with new ideas on what to do), is to get pictures of the front of the house from the middle of the street (just as long as you don't have to dodge traffic) - and to do so in both the daytime as well as the night time. From there, it's time to sketch. I use Photoshop and a tablet to do it in the computer, but if that's not available, print out the pic's and lay tracing paper over them (or just sketch right...

I've made plaster molds before using foam as a base, but I made certain I had coated the foam in a few coats of paint to seal it up well, and used lots of mold release (petroleum jelly worked well for me). The advantage to clay is that it will remain pliable (if your using an oil clay), so removing it from the plaster mold won't be more difficult than pulling out, and maybe picking out some scraps in the tight spots. Just be certain to add plenty of fiber to the plaster mold when you're...

I recall seeing that particular concept on the Instructables website. I pulled up a page of foundry ideas there - lots of concepts to review, ranging in cost and capacity. Instructables (my personal favorite concept is the solar foundry, but the Altoid tin furnace is also a fun idea)

If you don't have one already, get a nice lithium ion cordless drill/driver. Cobalt coated drill bits are fantastic to have if you need to drill through metal - they cost a bit, but last a good long time, and drill through most metals like they were wood (use cutting oil to keep the bits from dulling). I'm also a firm believer in a good Dremel with the flexible shaft, for getting into really tight spots.
