Halloween 2009

This year I was a fortune teller and my husband was the disembodied head in the spirit ball. The TOTs must say trick or treat or they will anger the spirit ball and he will tell them "No candy until you say the magic words"(two taps on the ball was his signal). If they said trick-or-treat I tapped lightly once on the ball and he would tell them they could get some candy. After they approached I asked them if they knew the magic words to get candy on Halloween. Based on their answer I would tap once for yes and twice for no and then lift the spirit ball and my husband would give his answer. It was hilarious because the TOTers couldn't really see it was a person in the ball so they were shocked when he would start yelling when I pulled the ball up. While they were being startled from that, my friend's father that was sitting quietly in the corner would rise and walk up behind the kids so when they turned he would scare the heck out of them. It was great. The weather did not hold out for us and it started to pour, but we had a couple of hours to scare the kids.
