Okay, great. I wasn't aware the mm wasn't weather resistant, so good to know I'll still have to seal it with the Drylock. Thanks Terra,

I have learned that it doesn't matter what color the mm is if it's going outside. Because you need to cover as much as you possibly can with the Drylok so you don't get water intrusion. The Drylok I can get at Lowe's is already tinted a medium gray so that helps a lot. Many people's Lowe's' or Home Depots only carries the white. You could either tint it at the store or you can paint a base coat of gray over the Drylok (exterior latex).

If you are using mm inside, for some projects it doesn't need that Drylok step (see my tutorial on making things look like metal). So the color of mm is important. My first batch of mm I used the gallon of black paint and it came out to be a very, very dark gray (most light it looks black). If you look at my Beloved tutorial, she's covered in that black tinted mm.

I made the rib cage using a short length of PVC pipe for the backbone, drilled holes in it and then inserted long lengths of wire thru it and bent them in the shape of the ribs. Went to
Lowe's and bought some 3/8" (I think) thick clear tubing and cut a piece of that to slide over each wire "rib" for bulk. Then paper mached all the ribs and backbone with paper towels. Then painted it white and then a little brown for aging.
