Hi everyone! Been a while.
Gobby I am so sorry to hear that!!! You are so lucky they caught that in time. Take it easy and make sure you dont push yourself. We need you hear Gobbs:) I love the side note about your mom's cross, looks like shes with you all the way to make sure you make it through this with a full recovery:)
Ophelia my word what a day. I hate to tell you this but my kids are 19 and 22 and I still end most days with a glass of wine....ok maybe two glasses of wine.
Well Well Well Looky what I found here!!!! Hmmmmm thinking I may join again Ill keep you posted Bethene! You always do such an amazing job with this:)
Spooki flys off to pull her Boa's, Martini glasses and extra purple glitter out of storage and to install her new broom GPS just in case she decides to join she will be ready to scope out and any forum members house should she need to get clues or possibly steal.....ahem borrow a cool prop that said forum member might be making.
Not sure but if you strike out with Home Depot/Lowe's perhaps try Ace Hardware. They always seem to surprise me that they carry stuff I don't usually see at other places.
I like the water-proofing characteristics of Drylok because I'm usually adding in details of things that were dipped in monster mud so I need it to be waterproofed. The pink foam itself doesn't need to be waterproofed. It's that way on it's own. I love Drylok not only for the water-proofing though. That grit does give it...
Hee! Hate to be so basic about likes and dislikes but being very honest here: I would love anything homemade that shows off my reapee's love/art of making props/crafts. I guess the only dislike is gore.
You could try what I did with the Demon Horse. You dip cheesecloth into the Drylok. It helps reinforce the Drylok like if you were fiberglassing. I named it 'Cheeseclothing'. Here's the vid (Fast forward to time stamp 3:12):
GOBBY!!!!! Ive missed you too! How have you been??? Im actually off from teaching for the summer and have taken up redoing furniture for a hobby. Ive been selling pieces and doing pretty well. Its fun for me the hardest part is letting go of the pieces because I tend to want to keep all of them LOL. How have you been lately??
I'll never forget when I stumbled upon this place. I was confused by my newfound intense passion for Halloween and didn't know where to share it. Then I found HalloweenForum and fell in love with everyone. Thanks Larry!

In 2010 did a Zombie Apocalypse theme but it was based in the future. I'm thinking you could get some ideas. Built a lot of props to give it that wasteland world vibe. We had a great time - even the parents and my sweet niece helped pull it off.
Here's the build thread (lots of pics): http://www.halloweenforum.com/halloween-props/92436-props-zombie-apocalypse.html?highlight=
