Hello back and thanks so much. I do miss Beloved... The girl isn't attached at all. I had planned to but after mudding and letting her dry on the stone - realized that she wasn't going to go anywhere, lol. Then the 3 coats of Drylok completely glued her in :)
The big mistake was the newspaper that thought, "Hey, of all the pictures I could take of the park and plaster on the front page of my newspaper... I think the best one is of the severed heads." They of all people should have known better. In this light it wasn't really the park's fault.
This debate reminds me of the annual discussion of whether to use a hanging man prop. For my haunt, thought that it would be easier to just avoid things that would obviously offend some groups. But that is...
Great to see another UK haunter here on the forum. I'm down in the West Country in Wiltshire, and it gladdens my old black heart to see the increased popularity of Halloween here in the UK over recent years.
Love the animatronic parrot! Great work!!
Greetings Damian, from the Samedi Manor haunt in misty olde Wiltshire.
One thing I've learnt from my time here is that a lot of the prop making supplies that our friends across the pond refer to in their posts are available here in the UK, maybe in a slightly different form or under a different trade name. A little research can often produce a readily available alternative product. For instance, the concrete pour tubes you refer to in your post. Have you thought of checking out your local...
From Spooky olde Wiltshire, The old Baron bids you....Welcome.
Always great to see more UK haunters here on HF:D I run a full yard haunt every Halloween and I'm always happy to talk Halloween UK style any day of the year, so just drop me a pm anytime you feel like a chat!
Great website, btw.. Good to see somebody taking the plunge and getting some decent quality merch over here. I wish you every success and you'll almost certainly be on the receiving end of a few gold coins from the Old...
Yes, that is me and it's landscape fabric but I use the professional version that I was able to get at a huge nursery. Granger also sells it. I like using landscape fabric vs. black plastic because it's not so shiny and it's paintable. Here's a link to the full written tutorial: http://www.halloweenforum.com/blogs/terra/611-building-haunt-wall-panels-tutorial.html
This is how the landscape fabric I use looks. The stuff is so resilient that it's being used for cheap bags and packaging...

Oh, your teaser card (my very first) really sent me on the hunt. Soon as I saw someone refer you to MWK <smack to the head> I just knew it was you. Then it was so fun as you teased on the thread here about it being in Texas. Sweet torture.
Thank you again for your gifts. The artistry was such a treat to behold and admire. Plus - I get to Keep THEM! <Muh ha ha ha!>
