Aahh..The good ol' days! nothing like punching each others lights out then meeting up in the bar later to get seriously drunk together..it's how lasting friendships are formed.
Had a similar experience with a bunch of USAF guys at RAF Greenham Common during the Cruise missile days of the mid eighties..
I've been on "Civvy street" for 10 years now, but I still miss the military life.

There are indeed some very good pubs in cornwall..some great ones if you can get off the "tourist track" and find some of the smaller, out of the way "Locals". There's also a lot of paranormal history and legends around those parts, if you are interested in such things.
I'm ex military too...18 years service with the RAF. Got to go some interesting places, but never made it out to the States.
