http://www.halloweenforum.com/halloween-props/110640-haunted-fun-house-mirror.html Bookmarked this years ago. :D The box frame he used is concave, but it would be pretty easy to change the curve to an convex one, or even a rippled one to get the distortion effect. Just need to experiment with the angles and how much you can bend the acrylic sheet without breaking.

Some new stuff I saw at Home Goods yesterday. I love the standing skeleton. The bowl is small, but you can put some treats in there. Looks to be about 5 feet tall and is $149. Also comes in a black robe. Gargoyle is pretty big and heavy!

This is just my opinion. I bought amber spotlights and was very excited to use them. However, I found it... disappointing. I don't know why. I am brand new to using any kind of spot lighting. I had just purchased regular outdoor spotlights and those spotlight bases with the ground stakes. It was just... very boring. I did purchase a couple of the blue and green LED spotlights at Spirit for in a little cemetery and LOVED them!!

I just couldn't get into it. It's the same old same old just with new people and in a city. I did find the concept of seeing 'it happen' ( normal life as we know it ending) interesting. I guess sometimes too much of a good thing is just too much. I will watch. I just neither loved nor hated the first episode.

Lol at the stogie-smoking pests. :) The smoke was really horrible two days ago. At the moment it's just a nuisance. I'm sure it's nothing compared to what you're dealing with. Definitely makes me feel like just heading back to bed. I actually have chopped the big 4 x 8 hunks of foam down in the parking lot to get them into the car. But this would take a lot of hacking. We'll figure it out. Probably just get it fixed even though the car is on it's last legs. Trying to send heavy rain...

Hi Danski...I didn't want to dominate your thread - especially since my info isn't the best so I thought I'd just message you directly. Hopefully you'll get some better responses. Post 151 in that thread is the post by Jaybo that explains how to hook them up to a bigger battery pack without soldering. Still a little involved. And you'd need to buy the battery packs... these thingies... ...

Thank you for the links on those posts. I did see there were some for sale for 13$ plus shipping somewhere on the forums. I was hoping to beat that cost and do it myself since I already have a couple dozen I bought from niftymart last year. I noticed when using them the batteries only lasted a matter of hours. I was thinking to use a battery pack, but not sure how to wire it up or what Exactly is needed. The 9v battery looks interesting. In the photo from the seller here somewhere the light is...

Post 56 of the same thread has a bit more info on what Otaku used. Having problems finding the dowel thread - I think that was actually for hooking them up to use a wall wart. Post 45 indicates that the batteries are..."1130/1131 = AG10" Hopefully someone who knows what they're talking about will just jump in with full instructions.

There was a fair bit of info kicking around a couple years ago. You might want to scan this thread.... http://www.halloweenforum.com/halloween-props/92294-pics-new-led-pin-lights-everyones-buying-4.html Check post 62 there for one. Otaku has wired his up to a 9-volt. I also remember someone came up with a way of using...a hunk of dowel and thumbtacks to get around the soldering part. Let me see if I can find it.

Since we have been discussing the 12v power supply in this thread I decided to post this video of how I set up this system to use the 12v 5a power supply along with a motor controller to power a wiper motor. The motor controller I use is this one that I buy from ebay. Here is the video of the set up working. I hope it helps.

I have several of these lights. The button batteries don't last very long at all. I was wondering if anyone can give me some instructions on how to convert and what parts/battery pack I would need. The lights are pretty cheap, and the on off switch is really poorly made-- but they do work well when you find one that has a little bit of life in it. I imagine the battery pack is either triple a - double a. Please, if you can help, layman terms would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Those are beautiful. The one that houses the projector is fantastic. Really different but still authentic looking. Texture is great. JukinJim, I'm guessing the kids spend half the night in your yard reading tombstones and go home with an empty treat bag. Those are crazy. Here's a few tombstones we've done over the last few years. I don't think I ever posted them in this thread... we need to get a little more aggressive with our aging.

Figtreejohn, I get all of my wiper motors from Monster Guts. They are reasonably priced, they are new and they work really well with very little noise. These motors cost $23.95 each, have a hi and low speed and also have the "park" feature built in. Shipping is not included so it brings the total cost a little higher. I usually order 2 at a time so with shipping I think for the last 2 I bought I paid about $59.00 total for both motors. I have looked at other options. Even going to our...

When looking through the forum I have seen several different ideas on how to mount wiper motors. I have found a way that works for me in every application that I have wanted to use a wiper motor for. It is quick, easy, and best of all it is really cheap. I have never seen another thread with this idea so here it is. I apologize in advance if someone else has posted this idea. I go to the local Lowes hardware store and buy a Pipe Rail Tie for $3.24. Using this method I can mount a wiper...

What about looking for a small crate? Or you can build a cage with 2 pieces of plywood and rope, chain, conduit, wood rods for pvc. Plywood for top & bottom and one of the other for the "cage" part.

Hey pumpkinpie, I got the pumpkin online from Halloween Express. I went to link it up for you, but they are out of stock. I did find it on Amazon though. It is called the "Halloween 6: Michael Myers Pumpkin". I paid $36 for mine from Halloween Express and that is what they are selling for on Amazon as well.
It is very lightweight and would make a great "floating pumpkin". However, at $36 each, you'd be getting into some serious $$$ if you wanted multiples.
Love your Deathly Hallows theme! I love HP!

Glad the news isn't all bad! This year I am trying to focus on projects using up materials I already had and that are cheap to make from scratch. I was just telling someone that you and several others on HF are really good at that. At making things for very little money. Now, throwing a party, I know is a whole other story as far as expenses go. We will probably stick with a few friends and family members this year again.

Pumpkinpie, I have had such fantastic Halloween finds of late that I've had to change my theme. So much was classic monster props that didn't go with the camping, and by gosh, I couldn't stand to have it in storage. So now I'm going with a Monster House theme, like the Munsters. Monsters, they're just like us. So I'm imagining walking into an actual monster family's home. What would that be like? But I'm bummed because I had such fun camp ideas. Do you have any of your camp pics on Pinterest? You can send them to me. I'd love to see.

The sunburned vampire costume idea is hilarious. You have some wonderful ideas going this year. I am thinking of doing our guest bathroom as the "Disenchanted Tiki Room" this year. Like the Disney one, gone wrong. LOL.

I love your idea of Frankenstein and bride dressed in Hawaiian gear. Your party is going to be very cool this year. Feel free to add any photos or project ideas in the Tiki Island thread I have going, if you want. I am always looking for more ideas.
