I believe that Lord Winston is perfectly happy with the maid's bust he currently enjoys. :D You really didn't think I would let that go did you? Nice work on the Lady BTW.

No need to suggest improvements as they are great as they are. Well done. I particularly like the gate itself.

Great stuff. Lady Eleanor looks very elegant even in soft focus. Just wondering what Lord Winston is up to with the maid. Seems like he should be hanging with Lady E. Hmmmmmm.

GoS The hair is just sections of wild grape vine. It grows all over in the woods around here. Other than that it"s just an inexpensive mask on a styrofoam wig head with a little extra detail and some button eyes held on with tie wire. Arms are old pool vacuum hose and latexed burlap. Hands are some kind of evergreen, dead but still very pliable. She will be on a pole maybe 7 feet in the air with uplights. Dolly is made from corn husk. Yeah my shop gets pretty cluttered with Halloween junk....

We have an assembled horse at the barn and it really does take up quite a bit of space. I can't tell you what size tote it would fit in but it occurred to me that maybe those bags that you put stuff in then hook up the vacuum to would save some space. Just an idea. Of course you could just leave it assembled in your yard and see how long before someone from PETA drove by and reported you for animal cruelty.

J-man Don't apologize,,the piping info is valuable to others as well as my self. Life would be boring if discussions never went partly off the rails.

J-Man Thanks for the additional info. Mice? The mice probably can't survive because the rats eat them! :D I'm sure there are plenty of rodents around so if that's an issue we would have to go with hard piping which, I think, puts me squarely back to the portable tank scenario.

J-man The link is for 1/4 inch tubing. At $19 a foot not bad. But when you move up to 1/2" it lists for 68 dollar per 100 a significant difference. I figured on at least 1/2 inch due to pressure drop. But I am still going to experiment with the tanks.

Well the answer is yes and no. The second floor was originally a hay mow( It's a bank barn) and is open except for the fact that all the owners toys and other stuff is stored there. A straight line would not work anyway as the maze is convoluted and the line would have to run all over the upstairs floor to access all needed areas. But the link you provided may indeed be a low cost solution to the issue. The compressor upstairs is centrally located and by dropping through the floor and...

nosefuratyou replied to a thread Pneumatic: Air tanks in Halloween Props
We have a couple pancake compressors but if they are close to the prop the noise of them running would be a distraction. Again, I am just trying to avoid the cost of running air line throughout the haunt. There are nearly 500 feet of hallways and over a dozen scenes some of which may or may not end up with air props. The portability with the option of selecting scenes for air without piping the who;e place is what I am looking at.Eventually if all goes well we will probably pipe the entire...

nosefuratyou replied to a thread Pneumatic: Air tanks in Halloween Props
The tank(s) in question would be at least the 11 gallon from Harbor Freight and I may be able to come up with something even bigger locally. The haunt is in the bottom of the barn and there is a big compressor upstairs but the whole point of the post and idea was to avoid having to run several hundred feet of airline through the barn if we could get away with portable air in certain locations. We tried renting small children to sacrifice in the haunt but found out it was illegal and their...

As was said above the question pertained to portable tanks with no connection to a compressor. Thanks all for you input. I'll probably experiment a little this week end.

J-Man That's useful information. Ours would have to go 3 hours a nite or so and be triggered frequently so probably even an 11 gallon would be stretching things. Guess I'll just pick up a tank and do some test. I can always use the tank to fill all the tire that go flat around here.

Has anyone ever determined how long an air tank (say an 11 gallon 150psi from Harbor Freight) would run a small diameter short throw cylinder. There is a big compressor in the barn but no air running downstairs. If small pneumatic props could be run from individual tanks as opposed to running air piping through a 150x35 foot barn it would save a little cash this year and give us some flexibility. I'm predicting a no answer but thought I would ask.

I don't know anything about electronics either but seems to me that at least one of the motors must be controllable for speed so would definitely be useful. My advice is if you have room save it. If you chuck it someone will tell you the next day how you could have used it.

I'm old enough that I should remember that song but don't. I occurred to me that the Hamburgler would make a good addition to your fast food Halloween theme. He's pretty sinister.

you look at their list, and give what you can afford. try to make it al least around $20.00. of course there is the shipping fee on top of that. you can send home made gifts, second hand gifts, brand new gifts. it's a lot of fun. check out the reaper. you will get ideas.
