Thanks so much for posting the link to this tutorial. Had seen it before some years ago, but the last time I'd looked for it, many of the links were broken.

Cameras, cameras, cameras!! Had to get them after we got a bunch of stuff stolen. You can even get a bunch of dummy cams and a security sign. Works wonders!!

A few years ago, someone had projected ghostly footprints onto his front lawn and/or walkway, but can't remember who it was right now.

I have used glider gripper and pl300. They both work well. The pl300 takes some time to dry/cure. The gladden gripper is my choice for foam to foam adhesive on small and medium size projects. I use pl300 on large projects. Be sure to remove the plastic sheething that is on pink and blue foam. The adhesives will not work if you do not remove the plastic.

Decorating the inside of the house this week and should be done by Friday. Out Haunt is ready to go, but it depends on the weather. Last year, we had to close the walk through because of rain the entire week before Halloween. This year, I have a few different things planned if the weather holds. Feeling the pressure, but should be okay.

With a house on the corner like that, I'd make sure there was a jack in every window, at least every window that didn't have a ghost or a projection of some sort. In the future, consider getting a real wrought iron fence for that property, and a bat-shaped or skull and crossbones wind wane for the tower peak, a victorian lamp post in the yard, long-term investments for the property. The house itself is the main attraction, I'd just accent it with the elements all those classic haunted...

Make your own. Look into Witch lanterns or witch jars, like those made by Pumpkinrot. You can see a lot of folks making their own on youtube, and they add a lot of atmosphere for little effort. Webs or cheesecloth help a lot. One thing that is really easy is to gather some dry branches. Tuck them behind knick-knacks or mementos. Bundle a few together with strips of cheesecloth or ragged cord and place them at the base of candle sticks, around serving and candy bowls, on top of the tv,...

Wow major congrats on your nomination… way to go!!!! And to think I knew you when! ;) I know how hard you've worked and can't imagine a more deserving teacher. I hope you get it. But like they say it's an honor to be nominated and I really mean that. It really sounds like everything's rosie in your neck of the woods yay. :D I'm not here nearly as much either. It seems like so much of our little gang just isn't here anymore. :( Some of the newbies have not been as generous as I would like to...

The skellys are super cheap and I like mine.I agree about the prices being so dang high at other places. However I do remember when the skeleton store and the like were the only options for non blucky skellies and they were well over 75.00.So I am gratefull that alternatives are being sold.

I think the biggest low effort impact on staging your house for a party is removing all the normal decorations that don't fit with the theme, or creep-i-fying them. Lots of photos of the family? Change them out to creepy black and white antiques, or print out and add witch hats, vamp fangs, googly eyes, or spider webbing. Got some sports memorabilia or other stuff out there? Remove it and hang old picture frames, mirrors, or blackened canvases (can usually find some decent sized fancy...

Thank you both! That steer skull is pretty nice looking indeed. The fire and ice light (well, one of them) goes inside the saloon building, as you will see shortly... Lighting bits, in the night, in the dark.....

Gorgeous! I've had pictures of monuments like this in my "inspiration" folder but that's one of those "yeah I'll get to that next year", year-after-year projects. You just set the bar VERY high!

Thanks for posting the picture! Thanks for the tip! I tried colored spots in the house for the last party and lit the house outside in red but I love what clean separation of color you got on yours - will definitely try this year!

Thanks! I'm sorry it's been so long since I've been on here. Still recuperating on leave from back surgery and getting back into the hang of things. I guess I need to figure out how to post my doll pics I did. Was a hit last Halloween and the kids said had e best house in the whole neighborhood. I've started hand doing more decorations for this year.

Hello there! I was digging around the witches prop thread, and came across the photo of your shelf unit. Really great job. I was wondering, did you make those head in a jar props or did you purchase them? I love the way they look.
Any info about them would be appreciated. Thanks.
EDIT: hahaha I just saw where you post a link. SORRY for the premature message. LOL

    Thanks for the kind words.
I checked out your photos as well. The photo of the witch has excellent lighting.
Want to hear a funny story? I invested this year in a DMX lighting system. I spent the last month learning the programming and seting up my sequences. Wouldn't you know it, 60 minutes before I open on Halloween night my computer crashes in a big way. I had to grab a second computer, load the program, load in the model of lights and design the lighting sequence. Believe it or not I pulled it off in 55 minutes thankfully. Otherwise my lighting might have been a screw in light bulb.
