i've never done ballroom dancing but is something i wouldn't mind doing. i bet they put a lot of time into that routine. they seemed to have it down real well. and they look like they are fully enjoying it. glad you and the wife liked it

I kinda liked the drainage hose last year but the only test I ran was with frozen bottles in the pipe, and no chiller connected. When I ran the whole system (with a Vortex-type chiller), I was a bit disappointed in the volume I got. I'll use the pipe-and-bottle combo again this year, but no Vortex chiller in the loop. The leaves did help - the fog drifted up through them and looked more natural. Don't know about using plastic bags - I've never tried it.

    Absolutely no problem!

I'm thrilled how it turned out, and it wouldn't be anything without the eye mechanism that DaveintheGrave built for me.

I made a crappy video and posted it here:

DaveintheGrave's tutorial has some video too, and shows it working:

I think it would need to be modified so that the width of the device isn't so wide. It measures just under 7 inches and I currently have the painting leaning at an angle away from my wall to accommodate the motor setup, but I'm planning on taking a closer look at it after Halloween to see if there is a way to remount the motor (at an angle?) so the width is decreased.

You'd have to make either a wide stone to house it, or place the stone where the backside isn't visible... or if you're handy see what you could do with the motor mount yourself.

It is a pretty cool motion, tho. Slow and then pause - I LOVE that.
