Awwww. There's no sad-facing in Halloween! Hang in there, Michelle. Maybe you're setting too high of expectations for yourself? You should be able to enjoy the holidays too! Deep breaths. Hope things come together for you smoothly, and you get to enjoy your Turkey.

Hey Michelle! How have you been? So which holiday season are you working on now? We're way behind on our Halloween stuff but I've got next week off so I'm hoping to perform some small miracles. Hope you're finding some time to enjoy your Halloween.
  3. Thank you so much! I will let you know. I love the generosity of people on this forum. The proceeds will be going to a great cause.

Hey - thanks for the photo comment. I think you've got a good plan, but I think while you were putting the craft together, the little guy would be ALL OVER your Spooky Town. Kids can tell what's the most fun to break!

I notice you had kind of disappeared for a bit. Glad to see you back. We won't be ready to decorate for a while. I've got a bunch of house things that need to be taken care of first (the roof needs to be reshingled - stuff like that.) I am crazy intimidated by that kind of stuff, and money is a bit tight this year. But if I bury my head in the sand, it'll all go away, right?

Hmmm. I'm up in Canada, so hopefully it's not some kind of weird exclusive Canadian magazine.

Yeah, I hate your kind of people. Handmade Christmas gifts for everyone has got to be a ton of work. When do you put your tree up? (assuming you have a tree.)

I took a quick look at Tim Holtz - I think I need to check out the tutorials to really appreciate what he's doing. But I don't think you're far off his results. I'm sure he's got way more resources at his disposal. Considering how far you've come in just a year, I think you oughta leave him in your dust by....say mid-March? Mid-January if you get your cricket! It's great that the hubby is supportive of it - sometimes it's tough to see past your own interests.

That's the one thing I like about spooky town. When figures get dropped, it's usually a clean break that glues back together quickly. We've had a few of those.

Hey, lady! How are you doing. How goes the Christmas cards? (Ugh, I feel dirty even saying that at this time of year.)

I took another look at that rubber stamp magazine, and it looks like a whole different world - not for the faint of heart. If it had been all Halloween I would've picked it up anyway, because there Halloween section was very cool. BTW, do you use those cricket things too? Is that one of the tools of the trade?

  8. Thank you!! You just made my day! I actually used sponges, dry baby wipes and stamp ink to create the sunset background. Yes it can definitely be like a collage!

I'm going to Michaels today for a Halloween stamp set I saw the other day. I have plans to make something similar I'll take a few extra pics of the process. I post almost everything I make on my blog so it's not extra work. I'll send you a message when I get it done!

That's my hubby (well fiance but we've been engaged for 11 years making it official this October!) and my son from last halloween.

Thanks Mit240z! Oh that is beautiful! So the blended color - is that stamped as well, or is it painted?

So if I understand correctly, stamping is sort of like collage PLUS! ?

I don't want you doing any extra work just for me. Halloween is coming and I'm sure you've got lots on your plate. But I'd love to see more when opportunity allows. The magazine was $8 here (I think) but now I'm thinking it might be worth it.

BTW, another silly question. Is that you or your spouse in your profile picture? I hate to make assumptions.

    Thanks again.

Hi Mit240z! Good to meet you! Can you explain the rubber stamping thing to me? Do you buy rubber stamps and then use them in creative ways? or do you make them yourself? I don't know if I'm just tired tonight but the concept seems really alien to me.

I was impressed by the stuff in the magazine, but not sure what the process is. If you can clue me in (talk slow ) I'd appreciate it.
