You ever have one of those times where everything just goes to crap? Well, that was kind of the past couple years. I haven't been on here since 2008, since then I've been busting my butt at the costuming thing, spent a year or so going everywhere from between just slightly ill to all out sick and back again. Did more theater, realized I hated the ones here and won't make that mistake again. Watched my baby go to not a baby - almost a teenager, and all sorts of other things life decided to throw
I'm so excited! My husband bought me a website for my birthday, domain name and all that stuff that you need that I don't understand. So now we're working on "tweaking" it. I'm just having a generic template with a few personal touches for now and after Halloween we'll completely redo it when we have time to work on it. Right now I just want to get it up and running and then get some things on it to sell. Until then, he's putting up a gallery of some of past stuff I've made so people
So the position at the children's theater opened up. The add for a costumer was in this past Sunday's paper. Very odd, because I never buy the paper and for some reason this week I did.So I sent off my resume and cover letter. They need someone to start on the 25th with this season's first production (Peter Pan). My daughter is trying out, so maybe I'll hear a little something when we go to auditions next week. Part of me doesn't think I'll get it, I don't have a lot of shop experience,
So, I decided to start my sending out of emails early this year. Last year I only sent out one, to a local haunt, to work as a costume designer. They did hire me and made it pretty clear they wanted me to come back for this year. I did LOVE working there, but I feel like I missed the whole month, my favorite month of the year. This year I want to be home for Halloween, I want to spend time decorating the new house, going to stuff on the weekends with friends, seeing some of the other haunts
but at least now I have a goal *L* I was listening to one of my favorite groups, Creature Feature (check them on myspace) and I realized what my dream yard is going to be. I've always loved the idea of a haunted carnival, the old victorian style with a side show and scary classic clowns. So, while it may not happen this year, I think I may start...maybe just a small gypsy vardo for this year. I know a guy who makes them and we can use it for camping the rest of the year *L*. Yeah, I can see
