Yup sorry, I should have clarified. Christmas is what I was talking about. Starting to put up my lights this weekend. Hoping to have my controller by next week. I paid for expedited shipping, but I think it's a few days before they'll ship.

I have to sit down tonight and try to learn the sequencing software. I'm just going to use other people's sequences this year, but I'm going to have a 1/2 mega tree (20' on the front of the house) and two leaping arches so I'm sure I'm going to have to rework whatever sequences I get.

Hey Bill. Sounds like you had a great Halloween! Ours went well too. We had about 120 TOT's. Our first year we had about 10, so in 6 years we've definitely gained some momentum!

I bit the bullet and bought a LOR kit tonight. It's just 16 channels, but I'm super excited to get going on it! You mentioned you might be able to hook me up with some sequences if I got into LOR. Any chance of taking you up on your offer?

    Talk to you soon!

    Yikes! Sounds ambitious!

Sadly, I don't think I'll be able to get over to Disneyland for the day, but I may have an Exec meeting with a group at Disney Studios -- won't know until I'm down there next week. I will have a rental car, so maybe I can hit Disneyland in the evening.

Well, I have all the major Halloween stuff down and boxed up. Still have the boardwalk and the fence running along the front yard, but I really like the look of it. In fact, the wife might agree to let me keep a boardwalk if I redo the front yard and make the boardwalk into a brick path!

Next week, IBM is sending me down to Burbank to work with some Execs on a Dinsey proposal!! Should be a lot of fun. I'll have a rental car and I'm hoping to get out in the evenings and see some of the sights!!

Now that's a goal! Hey how'd your arch hold up? We had heavy rain the week before and some of my letter centers like on "o" and "a" popped out. I reglued them but when I took it all down it looks like one of my pieces of plexi is coming loose too. I also had some cracks open up on the outside corners as the wood swelled. Not too bad though. A little touch up will take care of those. We had discussed stability at one point. I used one piece of 1x2 anchored to the inside of the column and then screwed to a stake putting forward pressure on the columns and then added three strings on each at different angles pulling back and staked to the ground. We had a little wind with gusts to maybe 25 mph and the whole thing held firm. I think those leveling things I made helped too. I added more 1x stock in the bottom and screwed the bases of the columns to the leveler. Today my last "pick-up task is to get the columns in the attic.

WOW! Any crowd control issues? Ours went very well and my wife and I estimate about 250 TOT's based on candy consumption. We had three other neighbors that did full blown displays and about half a dozen that decorated and about two houses were dark on our street. The street had a real carnival feel to it. My sound system carried up and down the street. One house did a haunted garage walk through with a castle facade and one of the other big ones was doing a version of live theater out front. It was great! Lots of happy kids and in general very polite, well behaved and we saw some excellent costumes. Only had to run one high schooler off showing off for his buddies and decided to climb over my barriers. No harm done and it gave the really evil me a chance to come out momentarily...heh heh heh.

It ended up looking pretty great. The weather was terrible and no one on our block had their lights on so it was really dark down our way. We had a pretty good number of TOT's. But what sucked is I could see down the street where all the houses that decorated were and they were busier then we were. I am going to check out your pics now.
