I get excited when I find a pose n stay for under $40 and grab a couple if I have the cash. I just wish I could find some more of the glow in the dark ones like Target had several years ago.

I guess I'm lazy because I just use colored lighting in the recessed lights for the most part. Then again our house is goth so it's kind of already got appropriate stuff in it.

Perhaps the lady of the manor gets up top her own mischief. They could even have an 'arrangement' and everything is mutually agreed upon. The original marriage was most likely 'till death do us part' and they may have decided to stay together after in an unconventional situation. You don't know! Stop imposing your living morals on the departed!

I keep meaning to make some coffins I can use out in the yard that double as storage off season. Unfortunately it's already getting too warm to start on any big projects for me.

I am rewatching Star Trek the Original Series and 80% of the sets is just lighting. I am realizing how much this imprinted on me and how much of my Halloween ambience is created just by mixing coloured lights. I think anyone struggling with lighting mixes could do with a (re)watch and pay attention especially to the way they mix purples in with other colours to give an otherworldly feel.

Nah needs to be a plastic tote. Cardboard is just not a good idea for storing stuff in the garage with the amount of humidity we have all summer.

I really don't want to go the bag route. The box it was shipped in was TRASHED. I am frankly surprised it survived as the box was almost in shreds. I'd love to hear your results. 2 smaller boxes might actually be ideal if I can find 2 that match*** and will fit the rib cage and are long enough for the leg pieces. *** Why do they need to match? They just do, OK.

So due to medical issues I never got around to doing anything with my poor horse skeleton this winter. I need to disassemble her and get her stored for the summer. The problem is I am not sure what kind of storage tote she'd fit in. I have taken measurements but I am having brain fail. QUESTION: If you have your horse in a tote for storage what are the dimensions? Where did you get it? I don't want to get one that is too big because my Halloween storage space is nearly maxed.

Since we can't easily get Vantablack I decided to try something that is touted as the next best thing. It's called Black 2.0 by Stuart Semple who has had an ongoing feud with the creator of Vantablack because he won’t let anyone else use it. I wanted to see if it really was dark and matte enough to make a difference to some of my Halloween props so I did some comparisons with matte black spray paint and Mars Black acrylic paint both as is and with a mattifying spray. Now...

In the 90's before it was easy to get goth jewelry I used to wear these as jewelry when I went out clubbing and to shows. Unless I taped the opening they'd get caught in my fishnet and tattered lace at the worst times. Can you really still get these horrible things?

I am not to scale. I am 5 foot nothing so I'm not sure it would help much to be honest. Oh wait, here! This is a picture of my ghost BUT the horse is right behind her. The ghost is about 6'2" on her stand here. Maybe that will help?

My deal is not that kind of haunt. I go for atmosphere. I don't have a lot, or really ANY ToTs, so I am doing this for me and my friends. I'm going for a feeling, and an aesthetic. The creepy life sized dolls and skellies are perfect for me. I guess if I got my dream house & Halloween situation sure I would want live actors but I'm never doing jump scares. They just aren't my thing. Plus many of my friends have anxiety, heart conditions, etc. and it would just be mean and unhealthy to do so. I...
