Great idea! A few years ago I did this theme for my 40th Birthday/Halloween Party. I made a foam ET and a little illuminated spaceship in the garden, (you know the bit at the end where we all cry when he says bye to Elliot and goes home) but I covered him in blood and on the spaceship ramp and put plastic legs and arms like he was dragging people in to the spaceship...not the cute little ET we all remember!

Thanks Boone6666:) The gate is only made from cut up pool noodles covered in black tape with some paint effects. The good thing is they are so light you don't have to worry about it been too heavy and pulling the column over, and are easy to attach, mine is only held on with glue.

The place looks gorgeous! It's a great theme, and you're going to have so much fun setting things up! I'll be looking forward to seeing it all come together.

Well I am getting down to my last couple of days holiday from work:(, so have been trying to get as much done as I can. As part of the haunted manor I wanted to have busts of the Lord and Lady Winston which will be on the drive on the approach to the door. I have stuck with same method that I used to make the columns, just cardboard, brick wrap and lots of coats of paint. Lady Winston's bust started as a foam head, and I have built up the hair and facial features using paper mache then...

Trex-- that insanity mask is extremely creepy! I bet that will be a successful character! I'd still love to do armor, but it's a huge project, and I'm dipping my toe in the pool slowwly. In a similar vein, I made a Schandmaske, a Medieval shame mask. This one is for a gossip, with big ears and wagging tongue. Edit in-- I forgot to mention, the lock is just temporary for the photo. I have some that look quite similar, but are about 1/4 the size. They just aren't where I thought I left...

Just offering this concept for your consideration-- Not recommending any specific brand or store: edit-- the link that said, "Watering- Irrigation- Sprinklers - Timers" came up garden tractors. But the point was-- there are some garden hose timers that you can pick up for $25 or so.

Following my recent post for the cardboard columns, I have had a few messages if i still have the info for the Grandfather Clock that I made from cardboard last year. So here it is: I had a pile of different shaped boxes hanging a round a while (large box, toothpaste boxes, toilet roll tubes etc) I purchased some garden plastic fencing from the cheap store, and an old clock from a jumble sale for 50p. To keep the 'how to' as short as possible I basically laid out all the different shaped...

Thanks wackychimp. Basically they a large cardboard box cut in two with two smaller boxes stuck on the top. I purchased two cocktail bowls from cheap store (dollar store) and stuck those on top too. I covered them in plastic brick scene setter to give some water proofing (see pic) and then used acrylic paint ( again for water proofing) to add the aged effect to the whole columns. The plaques with writing and crest on, are again plastic frames from cheap store stuck on and painted, the...

doto, I am now thinking twice about finishing my work on baby Isobel... I fear this will only fuel the fire and add to these rumours if she comes on the scene....: Drake Manor's reputation is scarred before we even start the big event... Poor Lord Winston...just driving along minding his own business.... I will certainly think very carefully about where I place him for Halloween so there are no more scandals as Lady Eleanor is now starting divorce proceedings ;)

I'll probably start a few pumpkins and gourds in pots in a week or so. It has been very rainy here, and the ground is still far to wet to work, but some of my gourds have up to a 3 week germination time, so I'll get them going soon.

Well nosefuratyou I will have you know there is nothing like that going on in Drake is a house of a very highly respected family and Lord Winston is disgusted at such a suggestion:rolleyes:... they are posing together for the picture and nothing a result you will not be invited for brandy and cigars in the drawing room!

Well today's job has been doing some updating to my tape ghost people to change them to the family who live in Drake Manor. We have Lord Winston in his car, alongside him Daisy the maid, next is Lady Eleanor, another shot of Daisy, then Daughter Victoria. Still working on Baby Isobel who will be in a pram with Lady Eleanor (you can see a bit of it in the picture). Again, sorry for the pic quality not been so great, working off my laptop camera as digital one has broken. Their faces are...

Hi and a Happy Easter from the UK! Well it's a while since I have posted, the last time I was taking a break my Gran had just passed away. A few months later I also lost my Grandad, it's been a very hard year as I looked after them both through end of life care and had some very hard decisions to make. I kind of lost my creativity for a while, but my Gran loved making stuff and I know she wouldn't want me to be like this. So I decided today was the day,I have raided my loft of cardboard...
