I have to agree that the season is ramping up this last week of Sept! My Wife and I just celebrated our anniversary this past weekend and took a trip to one of our favorite Haunts for their opening night. We started decorating the inside of the house and plan to start the outside late next week. And to add this this, we have been dealing with annoying heat and humidity most of this month here in North TX. However, this past week the weather has been wonderful with highs in the 80s and crisp...

WOW - love all of the variety you have! Such a nice collection. I just started noticing blowmolds in the last few years, mostly thanks to the amazing Hilda's display (check her stuff out on here - FABULOUS display). I have a few now, and I do keep an eye out whenever there is a garage sale or I'm on craigslist. But space is the main issue for me becoming a large collector. I promised early on that my husband would always be able to park in our garage, and no storage will be added...

Every single one has a name. My giant spiders are named Webigail and Webster. Giant skull guy we hang on the roof peak is Bruce (Campbell), my girl mannequin is Persephone, the guy is Zarko, then there's Skeletina the skeleton and Annabel Lee our Flying Crank Ghost. I'm sure I'm forgetting lots, but yeah... lots of naming going on here. :)

You're not too old. Anyone that asks gets candy at my house. I even ask the parents that hang back if they want candy. :)

Usually I like to go into my local post office to take care of my mailing needs, but I'm not taking a chance with these Halloween stamps - I'm actually going to order them online. I just feel bad that the out-of-country cards I send out won't get to have one of those stamps on it.....the world stamp is a full moon, though, so that's kinda creepy.....

Decorating the inside of the house this week and should be done by Friday. Out Haunt is ready to go, but it depends on the weather. Last year, we had to close the walk through because of rain the entire week before Halloween. This year, I have a few different things planned if the weather holds. Feeling the pressure, but should be okay.

With a house on the corner like that, I'd make sure there was a jack in every window, at least every window that didn't have a ghost or a projection of some sort. In the future, consider getting a real wrought iron fence for that property, and a bat-shaped or skull and crossbones wind wane for the tower peak, a victorian lamp post in the yard, long-term investments for the property. The house itself is the main attraction, I'd just accent it with the elements all those classic haunted...

I love a pun, sneakykid. Someone asked this privately, but I thought I'd answer it here. I sketched the piece on regular copy paper in pencil, then painted it in photoshop.

Make your own. Look into Witch lanterns or witch jars, like those made by Pumpkinrot. You can see a lot of folks making their own on youtube, and they add a lot of atmosphere for little effort. Webs or cheesecloth help a lot. One thing that is really easy is to gather some dry branches. Tuck them behind knick-knacks or mementos. Bundle a few together with strips of cheesecloth or ragged cord and place them at the base of candle sticks, around serving and candy bowls, on top of the tv,...

Wow major congrats on your nomination… way to go!!!! And to think I knew you when! ;) I know how hard you've worked and can't imagine a more deserving teacher. I hope you get it. But like they say it's an honor to be nominated and I really mean that. It really sounds like everything's rosie in your neck of the woods yay. :D I'm not here nearly as much either. It seems like so much of our little gang just isn't here anymore. :( Some of the newbies have not been as generous as I would like to...

I think the biggest low effort impact on staging your house for a party is removing all the normal decorations that don't fit with the theme, or creep-i-fying them. Lots of photos of the family? Change them out to creepy black and white antiques, or print out and add witch hats, vamp fangs, googly eyes, or spider webbing. Got some sports memorabilia or other stuff out there? Remove it and hang old picture frames, mirrors, or blackened canvases (can usually find some decent sized fancy...

Hi and welcome! :) If you're speaking of the "great stuff" type foaming insulation that lots of us use for props, then yes it can be used to create some pretty simple yet grossly effective guts. But do read up on how to handle the stuff, because it is MESSY and can stick to your skin, hair and will ruin any clothes you're wearing. Recommend making sure to lay down a tarp or cardboard in the area, using gloves (I use latex gloves so I can work with it better sometimes) and very old crummy...

This talking doorbell scared the crud out of one of our cats - but to be fair, he's afraid of his own shadow, so that's not saying much - but it's still really cool...I'm looking forward to putting it up! When does a haunter/Halloween lover NOT need more stretchy web? Never, I tell you! I am so loving this vintage-looking sign - and it's heavier than it looks! Now the only problem is deciding where to put it....but that's a problem I'm more than happy to have! ;) There was also a...

Lookit my little pet ghost! Isn't he adorable? And he doesn't even need feeding.....but seriously, this is so creative and awesome.... I now have potholders for my Halloween meal creating! Yay! These little spiders were scattered all throughout the box - nice touch! - so I saved them all in one place for the pic! I ended up putting them in the little plastic pumpkin just to keep them from getting lost for can always use more spiders! I think that's a Halloween lover's rule...

There was a countdown to Halloween chalkboard! I'm thinking of leaving this up all year, actually....we'll see if the hubby notices.... I actually found the pencils before the coloring book, so at first I was like, "Oh, cool - I have an excuse to get one of those coloring books!", but Windborn thought of this as well, as you can see... The magnets are already on my fridge, and even hubby was getting into the spirit of things - he was like, "They made these for you? ...

First, this wonderful Poe print was nestled in on top - I think I'm going to frame this and keep it in the second bedroom/library all year round, as it will be adorable nestled in with my keeper shelves... These were nestled in the box as well - and they're so cute! More framing opportunities! I'm thinking maybe a gallery wall....I love them!

It is an ad for another online community that uses similar colors and overall look to Halloween Forum and we're not sure they can confirm the info in the ad itself. It has been brought to Vertical Scope's attention.

I finally chiseled the dried foam off my fingers from the haunt work last night (pumice stone did wonders!)..still have fake blood stains, but they'll come out eventually, and they don't interfere with my ability to type, so it's all good..... I wanted to show off the pics of my reaping! Windborn did a phenomenal job! A teaser card was also sent a bit before, but due to crazy work schedule and then losing one of our furry babies, I didn't get to post at the time I received it, so I'll post...

09-22-2016, 09:31 AM was affiliated with this forum at some point for it to have been included in our main header link, so not sure who the third party could be or when this change happened? If it's not part of the forum, I'd suggest taking the link out of the headers on the pages. I'm pretty sure if a radio site is still wanted in the links, that (not com) might be a viable alternative (no idea who owns that one either, but at least they're playing Halloween songs).

That Witch was made by Don Post Studios back in the late 90s and early 2000s. I have a smaller version of her (pictured below in the upper left): The version you have is rare and hard to find. Also looks like it's in great shape! I will try to find the catalog picture of her and post it. Also, try putting it under a black light and see if she glows in the dark... Mine does and I think they was all described as doing so. Great find!

MrNightmare replied to a thread Electronic/Software: Gemmy Wizard of OZ Wicked Witch in Halloween Props
Well that would certainly explain why so few are out there. I have seen her on eBay a few times, one went for over $400 and the other was a buy it now for $250 (I think?) and was for sale the same time the new version was released. What always stood out to me about this version was it was actually life size and larger than most "life size" props available today.

Transworld Show Is Coming Back To Las Vegas!

I was so disappointed when it was not possible for me to go the 2008 International Halloween Costume & Party Show.

I am SO happy that it is returning to Las Vegas after many rumors that it would not return.

I can't wait. It was posted on as soon as I found out.
