It turned out fantastic and this is one that I would think would become a classic idea for any graveyard. So creative!

The depth of the stone is coming alive now :) As for misspelling - DO NOT feel bad. Happens all the time (did it twice too). I'd suggest that's just where you do a little 'aging' ;)

Basically what I'm saying is reserve the full-on black paint for where you want to create the illusion of very deep depth - like cracks or fissures. So, for other things (epitaph, bat, etc.) you'd use variations of gray to help give the illusion of depth but not black-hole/infinity type depth as you would find in a crack. The only reason that an epitaph would be black colored is because it was painted that way. But, that paint would still be visible only if it was a relatively new stone. I...

You are very welcome. I'd say go the opposite direction. Use dark gray for the epitaph and repaint the cracks in the base color but don't be too careful repainting - leave some of the black peeking through. Then, follow up the crack painting a very thin brush using very black, FLAT paint. That will give a better illusion of a deep crack. Here's a video showing what I'm trying to say here at the 8:15 time stamp:

Love the uniqueness of the tombstone so far. Great idea! I've also gotten a list of additional bits to use from this thread too. That 196 bit looks like a something that could also be used to do small carving. Just to underscore - you must use the low setting or else the bit heats up and you end up with a molten blob at the end of your bit. Also, be sure you use a bit that has the cutting surface all the way to the tip. The multi-purpose cutting tool attachment kit has two different bits...

That's amazing. That head will kick butt. As for me, I have been good. Working hard, started the second semester recently and thanks to my awesome buddy from school he got me to push the idea of taking some EMT classes. So I applied to a local fire and rescue who will sponsor me to take classes. how about you?

Ok as much as I posted about having to take time off from prop building. I am thinking that since i still can decorate but not as much as I used to, I could do a Day Of The Dead ideas that are simple. So far i'm thinking of getting skeletons maybe alot of skulls and flowers lol
