Well maybe my mind is failing me, maybe it was the death mask. But when I saw it in new york on broadway they had the oversized skull. And true I dont think many performing schools could afford the script rights.
The Broadway production, or any of the Lloyd Webber productions of Phantom, do not feature an oversize Don Juan mask with red eyes. I'm not sure what show you're talking about. The only other mask the Phantom wears in that show is the Red Death skull mask. I'm still going around as the Phantom for Halloween and for other costume related purposes, no longer performing. We only did that once, with the final scene, as performance rights to the full show are not available (not that any school or amateur group I know could afford to stage it).
Cool, Yeah in the movie he had a Don Juan mask but also on the broadway production he had a Don Juan mask that was the size of like 2 heads. It was an oversized skull that the actor wore the had red led lights for eyes. So are you not doing the phantom anymore then?
Thanks so much for the comment. I'm not renting a theatre - all the photos/videos were taken back in college where we did the final scene for a theatre revue. And the Don Juan mask...from the movie? I'm assuming that's what you're talking about since the Phantom wears a hood in the stage production rather than a mask. Nope, the only masks I have are stage replicas and a Lon Chaney mask.
I love your dedication to the phantom of the opera, Thats my favorite musical, well that and rent, jesus christ superstar, hair, hah well any musical I love. Been in some (pirates of penzance, phantom, westside story) Any way though. I love the make up, and I have some questions on your production. Are you renting a theatre, and do you have the Phantom's Don Juan mask?
