I've had several actors work my place that were on the spectrum. I let them do what they were comfortable with. Some enjoyed, some got overwhelmed with the noise/crowds. I've learned this is such a personal situation from one person to the next, it's really impossible for us to give a blanket 'Autism is ok or not ok" answer. My question is why do you want to? What is the attraction to you? With an honest answer to that, we might be able to think of areas or situations that may be...

Got the last piece I needed for my kit, just need to assemble. It's not where I wanted to go with it, but I think it will come together well anyway. It's been fun and interesting, if not something normally in my wheelhouse.

Well, victim, YOU will be getting a story. It's not what I intended, but after 4 hours sitting in an archive, it's all I'm left with. There's a few shreds out there still Everyone else will be getting cliff notes. If I disappear, there's an actual conspiracy.

Wish I still had the pics, but afraid they are lost. I used to something of specialize in old 'abandoned' buildings at work. There was one in particular. Several hundred thousands square feet. It's the only place I've ever opened the door and refused to enter. The entire place was one giant web with a dozen black widows seen from the door and a couple snakes on the floor. I took a few dozen pics from the door and various windows, left, bought a couple bug bombs, tossed them in and...

Hm, my planned Friday trip is proving difficult. Need to make some phone calls because I need special permission to even view the inventory list. What I'm searching for might truly be lost. I do have a backup plan that has proven useful in narrowing the primary plan's search parameters if all else fails.

Living in Utah, the predominant religion seems to think they have what's happening after death down. I do get the questions about pets, though. How would you preserve a loved pet? Where would you take it, you surely must know? What's the least odd keepsake I might keep? I'm not weird or anything, am I? etc. Occasionally, I'll be asked about procuring human remains. But it's more curiousity than wanting to salvage something of a loved one.

Thinking I can probably finish up the kit on Friday. Assuming my little trip proves fruitful. I'm looking forward to hearing what people think. I've now fooled many, many adults with pics, and NONE have yet figured how it was done without me telling them. Deceptively simple...and yet maybe not for other people. Second guessing on a couple things, might go back and redo a thing or two. One of those things where I think little mistakes make it more authentic, but they are mistakes,...

I've seen both. Our Indy was born and raised with humans and thinks he IS one. As in, if one of the kids isn't home for dinner, he'll sit in the chair and want a plate. I have him leash trained, even, so he's been outside in a limited fashion with supervision, but doesn't want to be out unless people are there with him. He once played with a mouse and let it go after losing interest. Lily, on the other hand was born to a barn cat and brought indoors. She's a KILLER if you can ever...

They look good for this application, actually. You COULD take some plaster and add it to any holes with your finger. Ad some, have a bucket of water ready, wet finger, and smooth it with the wet finger. Rewet as needed. Any ridges can be sanded down with a wet scrubby sponge. As for soaking, Just want them wet. So, not long, just put them in the bucket, fill it, and start going to town. WHY...otherwise the plaster absorbs the stain instantly and it gets solid and DARK. You want...

Oh, she'll be fixed at my vet as soon as these are weened. Would have earlier if I hadn't thought it done already. They already had me sign up as her caregiver to take her in as part of the community cat program to begin with (it runs through the animal control officer I talked to when taking the previous kitten in to these folks), so, I think they are the ones pocketing the money, cropping the ear, and not doing the spaying. Or someone on staff did. They did give me drawings for the...

The boss wants the dark one. I'm arguing we already have 2 indoor cats and don't need a third. Not to mention she wants a lap cat like Cosette was (neither of our present ones like that idea) and there's no guarantee you'd get one. I wouldn't mind another working cat, but there's no guarantee it wouldn't get so spoiled by The boss/Talia it would ever be a decent mouser. That said, Mystery has a decent graveyard of birds/rats out near my shed, so it would have a good teacher. (growing...

Mystery the cat. Spring of last year, this cat showed up in our back yard. She was the most aggressive thing I've ever seen. She'd swipe at the screen door when our (indoor0 cats were there. Growl and hiss and stand ground whenever I would walk up, rather than run off, and it was really bugging our cats in the dead of the night and keeping us awake. So, I started spraying it with water when I saw her, and spreading sprays that were supposed to keep cats away. A few weeks went...

Absolutely. Follow the instructions in the tutorial, but after the second coating, go ahead and fill the whole things with plaster. You want the shell first to get all the fine details in the face/teeth. If you find your mold is stiff and/or hard, a little hot water will get it right in order.

Well. Fooled my kids, the neighbor kids, and had to spill the beans to the neighbor mom as she took it serious too and was going to call folks. I suppose that means it worked. Done some googling and it's really not half bad unfortunately. More on that when all is revealed. Need a wee road trip next weekend to finish things up.

Yeah, really depends on what you're wanting to do. If you're talking top end animatronics and things, no, likely not. If you're talking pumpkinrot-esque style and static, Probably. A really good cemetery can be made for that. But, you need to build your own, not buy. And rely on actors for scares. My budget is around $1000. I'm usually happy with what we do.

Ho-ly-crap Woke up with an alternate idea, since the original was not panning out on me being able to get supplies. So, went out early to gather needed items. This idea BETTER work. I can barely feel the extremities now. Spring is COLD here.

I've said for years. Bang for the buck, I absolutely love the Spencer's 700 watt fog machines. Decent output, comes with timer, add some froggy's juice and set them up. That said, they won't do your whole yard, more like for a prop. I'd still rather have 2 of them than a bigger one for most applications.

Well, in that case, see my tutorial. http://www.halloweenforum.com/tutorials-and-step-by-step/141380-latex-mold-making-skulls-cheap.html For a first time, it's hard to go wrong with plaster of paris. Cheap, easy to work. If I was going to be leaving something like this outside, though, I'd probably spring for Hydrocal or something more sturdy.

Yes, it's a more tiki styled skull for the concrete. But it was still just a latex mold. I'd actually go with the plaster and oil stain. The solid plaster would help the flames work around the skulls too, instead of tying it up in the hollow middle like mine did.

JW, that candle is pretty cool but I found the identical candle used for the HM exterior (or pretty damn close to it). I just don't see the dream candle being used outside.

  4. Thanks to all of you for your wonderful complements!!! I really appreciate all of them!! If any of you have decorating questions feel free to ask anytime.. As for the Question from "Lord H" These candle props have not been released until recently They Have always been a Disney secret... You can now get them for yourself, at a price. They are pretty expensive but look extremely real. They are called "Dream Candles" They have them in pillars and also tapers. although the taper candles are a bit of a project to find. You can find them at http://thomsonsmitha.wix.com/dreamcandlesluminara good luck... cheers
