  1. hi Susie, stopping home for the night from camping, we do that every few days, left the kitties and turtle home, so need to check on them! as far as the houe goes, we found one that has been giving us fits - it needs alot of repairs that fannie mae has to fix, but they don't want to fix it until it is appraised, but the bank we are going thru (never again, do not ever use a 5th 3rd for ANYTHING!) first said well, can't appraise it until it is fixed, well, some has to give, hubby has a appointment with one of our credit unions just in case, we should of gone with them in the first place but we were told by the realtor that is who they use and they have the lowest interest rate - sigh, this has been going on for so long, I love this house but am afraid to get happy cuz I am afraid it won't work out!
sounds like you know what you are doing with dogs, you rock, GF, am impressed and proud of you!! I would love to see you some time!! let me know when you are coming to Michigan!
  2. Peek a BOO!!! BETHENE!!! I am back home and sooo glad to be back on HF!! I have sooo much to get caught up on! House hunting over? Basement done? Camping fun underway? I'll do some lurking to see if I can get caught up on all the ahppenin's. Bet you are in the thick of camping fun - especially with the upcoming weekend!

I would LOVE to go camping - BUT I had not even stepped off the plane heading home before the SPCA was calling on me to help rescue a pair of standard poodles from the brink of the grave. They looked like they came out of a concentration camp - poor babaies. BUT what we did to revive the Great Pyrenees worked so well - I guess we have a reputation now for being able to revive nearly dead dogs!! Works for me. LOL - WEll - MysterE broke into his Lab props to get out our real IV pole and I set it up to manage the IV fluids that the dogs needed. Now it has bee a little more than a week since I got home and they ahve been with me. Now they are all doing sooo well!! Spunky and ADORABLE!! THey are gaining weight, drinking and eating on their own and to tell you the truth it will be hard to give them over to be adopted. I can't imagine having FOUR dogs though. Just think of the cost of vet bills and food - not to mention the daily poop patrol! LOL

WEll - I truly hope and pray all is well with you. I will keep you posted when we head back into MIch. this summer. Would be a true joy to meet up and share basement stories!! LOL

And Oh BT - I STILL haven't told you about the fun Meeps and I had when she came into the US late March - early APril. SO Fun!! WEll it is good to be back home and re-group. I need to get out to some yard sales - and then get our own stuff up and out too!! TIme to sell the basement!!

Hope all is well in your neck...of the woods! BUg hugs and BOO!
  3. Hi GF! I hope your mom does well with her knee replacement, can see me needing one some day, sadly!
a great pyrenees, too cool, love them, you so rock working with the spca, and rescuing dogs! poor baby,, don't understand how anyone can miss treat a animal like that!!!!
well, still figuring out what needs to be done,to buy the other place, not as bad as first thought! but still up in the air!just had the county inspector out, so now need estimates to fix what is wrong and will go form there!
Now, if you come to Michigan, anywhere near my area, we MUST get together!! let me know when, and I will figure a way to do it!!
as far as my basement goes, I am hoping to rent to my son and be able to leave some stuff until I need it! need hubby to agree, but it would be a win win for both of us, he could still use our pole barn, and stuff, while I could store some stuff in the basement!
glad you dropped by,, will catch you again soon!
  4. BETHENE!!!! Hallow Hallow!!!

Just had to stop in and get caught up on all the happenings!! You are AMAZING!!! How on earth are you juggling all the home stuff - the potential NEW HOME stuff AND getting ready for the camp trip?! Guess what? Looks like we will make a trip to MI again this summer!! After I get through all the stuff with my mom ( yes - ANOTHER surgery and I must travel again) and then a cool trip to a tropical island (St. Lucia) PLUS - I just took in a foster dog via a new program with the local SPCA. You gotta read my conversation with hallorenescene. It will fill you in. Toodles for now GF - and you know there is no better way to clean out a basement than to MOVE to another one!!! PS --- My visit with Meeps was SUPERBLY FUN!! I did take some pics and maybe I can upload them before I leave on my trip. Hope your Easter was egg-specially fun. Take care and stay tuned until next time -- BOO! (I truly hope the new house works out. I'm a firm believer that it will if it is meant to be....)
  5. hi GF, thank you for the b-day wishes! I am jealous you got to meet Meeps,, there are people on here I would so like to meet,,,
hmmm, sounds like you have the same problem I have , loaves in the seat.. it must be contagious! not much going on,,, should be working on Halloween, among other things(basement) but just don't feel like it,,, sigh,, oh well,, good to hear from you, off to work now
  6. well ,part of the problem with going to CA is my hubby , he is angry that she is out there, and won't go, and it will start a huge thing if I push it, I am thinking of pushing it,, but time is getting away from me, and we have so much going on, and right now she is trying to set up a on line store selling terriariums (sp?) and is so busy,, hopefully she can come in the spring,, but I should start saving change.. at least then if he wants to be a pain, I have the money at least sorta saved! One thing I know, my daughter eats alot healthier than I do, she is in to veggies big time, me not so much,! I have a bit done in the basement, but ALONG way to go,, this weekend washed windows, some curtains, raked out side, it has been so nice, took advantage of it! well, ,glad you stopped by,, take care, my friend!
  7. Hallow Bethie! Comin' up for air to say "BOO!" and check in. Have so much going on the next few weeks - and the basement project is still on the list! Been reading about hallorenescene's surgery. I have a little something going out to her to cheer her up... hope she is doing much better.

I know how you feel about your daughter being out in Cali. SOoo far away! Makes me think of that Carol King song "So Far Away" One week was not enough time for me. I really miss them. It was great to see where they live and to view the contents of their frig. They are actually eating real healthy food!! Guess all those years of mac & cheese and hot dogs didn't ruin the chance to form better eating habits! Everything is health oriented in CA, so it was good to see that they are taking pretty good care of themselves. They even cleaned the bathroom for us!!

I hope you can manage a trip out to see your girl soon. Just slowly start saving your pennies and it will add up in no time. We found flights for as little as $290. round trip out of Dayton. Surely there are even cheaper ones from Michigan. Maybe you could drive to Chicago to catch a flight? With gas prices - it makes sense to fly... Besides - a daughter needs her mom now and then. Moral and emotional support when you are so far from each other... I feel the same about mine and she is on the other coast! We are here in the middle, where apparently NONE of our kids wants to live! Oh well.

Hope you are well and that your basement isn't giving you nightmares like mine is. Take care and stay tuned! BOO!

PS - Glad you likes the Vampire Valentine. Yours was so sweet . . . Perfect way to welcome Spring! Thanks again for keeping me on your radar....
  8. Susie, hope as I am writing this , you are having a good sleep,, other than tired, how was your trip/ wish I could go to CA, I miss my girl something fierce,, she so needs to come back home!!!!!!!
  9. Travel Rule #1:

Never travel back and forth between three time zones on only 2 hours sleep -
    and

    #2

Never travel on Daylight Savings Time Day .... when your body clock is still stuck in "three hour ago"

I am back in OHIO - but I am sooo sleee,,,,,,,,,,,,zzzzzzzzzzzzz
  10. Susie,, thank you for the fabulous Valentine goodies! love the cupid and sparkly heart, and the note pad is fabulous!! as is the card,, thank you so much for all of it! and no worries about the late, of course I understand! how goes it with you and the family issues? tomorrow I am going into the basement,, hope I come out in one piece... it is hard to even know where to begin! :LOL!!!
