That project sounds cool.I am pretty much at a stand still till the weather gets warmer.I am wanting to do a haunted mansion theme this year.
I cannot tell you how simple they are. This is pretty funny. The wires connect to the power supply in a little grey box. There are these orange arms that secure them into place. Well being the rocket scientist that I'am, I couldn't get the wires to stay in the box. I would lift the orange arm a little bit and try to slip the wire in. The wire would fall back out. (The power supply did not come with directions). Well, with the snow, no power and just hours before TOT's start showing up I was getting shall we say, angry. Just when I was about to chuck it across the street, I noticed on the side of the small grey box, a diagram that shows you to life the orange arm up all the way to it is pointing straight up 90 degree angle). Guess, what? Once I did that they never fell out! I have a real big project I want to build. A wizard show. I'm going to buy the 3 axis skull and build moving arms. I seen some great light displays at Chrismas and think they would work well with the display. Just now starting to gater the supplies. And you?
So what are you working on for this year?
You are such a sweetie. You always come to my rescue.I get real scared when it comes to messing with power.so I tend to stick to store ready to go items. But I love the looks of these lights I may have to come out of my comfort zone.
The darklight's are much easier than the diagram. I used Speaker wire to a power outlet. Darklight sells different pwer packs (I think you can get them elsewere), I bought the smaller power pack one that holds 5 lights. You can use quick connects (which I reccomend) or simply wire wrap and tape it (did this on a few last year). It is real simple and easy, which I like. if you have any questions, just ask.
As the great Minnie Peral used to say .... HOWWWDY! Did a ton of work this weekend and none of it on my props! Only got an hour or so in. I'm almost finished with my Secret Reaper gift and my new witch crash. So, in my break I thoughT I should write you. The hardest part of the blucky was the water in the mouth. I cut the jaw off and trimmed it so a funnel would fit inbetween the jaw and skull. I selad it with silicone sealent. The skull was epoxied to the neck so it will not move. Iused several materials in the jaw to "control or improve" the water flow. Most failed due to the water re-constuting it. I ended up using construction sealent and that is the grey that you see. The tube doesn't stick up that high, the final is only up a hair. I sealed the edges again with silicone. I used plastic to control the "Spalsh" and hid it by painting it black. Let her run for a good 2 hours this weekend and (lnock on wood) no problems!
Thanks.I hope you get dryed out soon.
Sorry for the delay. The storm hit the area in rain form mainly. Had everything set and then I lost the power. Which meant my pumps stopped. Ended up with about 4" of water. Oh well. Here is a close up the the back. Since I was using clothes I didn't have to worry about and thing showing that I would have to hide. I used PVC and as you can see an "+" connector. I toyed with the idea of running the water through the PVC but decided against it. The shoulders have a 90 connector and the elbows a 45. I hide my tubes with clothing. The input and output both are under her shirt and her head rag helps to cover it in the neck area.
Thank you so much.I did s little fountain see my avatar. But I have mine shooting out water instead of drinking it.The picture helps alot. Hope the hurricane doesn't hit your area be safe!!!
OKay, took some pictures before the Hurricane hits. This is of the drain tube. I used a small funnel and secured it in place with some hot glue, then some expanding foam which I trimmed. I went up to a larger size tube so the skull would drain faster. To keep the skull in place I used a small dowel and expoy'd it big time. To prvent leaking I used Silicone sealent on all joints, gaps, pretty much everywhere. I send you more in the next few days, I don't want to fill up your wall. Any questions, please ask.
