thanks, i love it too!
Too Cool. Great colors, I love them.
dropping by to say hi
Oops, sorry forgot a question. He runs non-stop. I would like to use a motion detector, but right now that is beyond my skill level. But it is on the list for next year as is a few other improvements.
Thanks, I just hope he goes over well with the TOT's. No shoes. My theme is Zombieville USA ("Zombies are just like us, only different"), it is a graveyard where the zombies come out every Halloween. So, he is suppose to be coming out of the ground, hence the dirt around his feet. Hopefully in the end he will have a tombstone (All of them are suppose to have one, again hopefully). Of course if I do the tray, it will have fake candy on it. Right now he just just holding a towel which looks ok to me. Already doing my concept sketches on the witch. Should start work this weekend on her. I have high hopes for her. A following? No, no, no. There are people on the forum who put me to shame. I'm just glad people enjoy them. For really that is why I build them. I like seeing the smile on their faces when they see them. It makes all the work (in the 90 degree heat this week) worth it.
Howdy, Finished the Butler, well pretty much anyway. It was a tough build but i think I got most of it right. The eyes are from Hobby Lobby, they are from the doll section. They are clear plastic domes with black disk in them that move. So, when the head moves the eyes roll around! I thought it would be a neat touch. I might add a small tray in his left hand with a pile of candy on it. Overall pretty happy. Starting the this weekend. Should have the frame done by Monday. Here he is, his name is Alfred (from the old TV show Batman):
Heat out East is not like that back home in the Mid-West. We are always humid here. Today here in NY it is suppose to reach 91! Joy oh joy. With my zombie I'm going to try a new trick for the eyes. I found some pre-made eyes, clear plastic dome lenses, they have black circles in them that roll around in the dome. I will mount them on some wooden balls (I trimmed on part flat to accept the eyes), when he moves his head, the black circles will roll off to a side like he trying to follow you. My version of a cheap animatronic.
Heat doesn't bother me. I actually like it! I don't know if that is monster mud or not. It to me, just looks so real. I'm in awe, I would like to make something that realistic some day. Making good progress on the butler, finally.
