I saw one yesterday and tried to get my husband to buy it for me. Nope. He wouldn't bite, and what do I find on your page...this little guy. SEE, I do have good taste.

Grim Hallow Haunt has some great pictures for inspiration. I immediately thought of his cauldron hanging from the 3 branches over a fire. But maybe a dutch oven would be more fitting in your theme than a cauldron. :) http://grimhollowhaunt.blogspot.com/2012/11/brew.html As far as fire you can get by with a string of orange and a string of red lights under wood stacked up if you didn't want to go thru the whole hot coals diy. Just have to make sure that they are obscured enough by the...

That is fantastic Scarecrow! Ohhhhh and with some up-lighting that would create those great shadows I would think. We used to have this old shelter belt nearby that protected a house that I could get some great fallen branches from. I called it the spookery woods and my 4 year old & I would go get them for our yard haunt. Sadly its an apartment complex now. :( Now I'm itching to get branches again...those are hard to come by in the open prairie! :)

I like 3m spray adhesive for foam insulation. I havent ever had the tip gum up. So it works well for smaller projects. Menards carries it. Works well attaching foam to itself and wood, however it will not work to fill in gaps.

What about using wire to make branches? You could braid pieces to make the thicker portions then taper down. Wrap it all in brown floral tape. As you tape you could insert fake leaves. To make them appear as they are dying hold them over a flame, the edges will curl. If you want to add hanging moss dye cheese cloth army green and cut into strips. Hang from branches or even the ceiling with tacks. It will really give you that closed in feeling.

Oriental Trading has this: http://www.orientaltrading.com/perfect-storm-special-effects-lighting-a2-13576502.fltr?prodCatId=551274+1237 I purchased a different brand several years ago from Spilbury for around $20 if I remember correctly. I set it beside a boom box (handy that I'm old enough to have one still around lol) with the base cranked up and it does the trick just fine for my little yard display. We use the old fashioned large blue flood lights still. Hope that helps. :)

The Costco gargoyle looks great!!! Last year I bought 2 of the Gargoyles from HD and I LOVE them. I did however resculpt their faces to make them a bit more menacing. It's great to finally see more options for props. Especially large scaled props at a decent price.

I have bought it off eBay several times. You can usually get 20lbs for around $30.00. That includes the shipping cost. FYI if you order it don't leave the box sealed because it will rot and DONT open it in the house. It often has little bugs and can be pretty messy.

Why yes I did.... Actually 2. ;) :D for now I'm just gonna leave them alone and bask in their newness. I will probably wait to see what/if anyone else does. I'm not a huge risk taker, more a copy cat. Lol. I was sort of worried about their size working with my hearse, but from some of the posts they look pretty darned big. I'm ok if their a bit off scale. Btw - I picked up the wolf at Big lots.

Hey Chaserbug, I'm just popping by to say hi and to let you know I truly don't think anyone was trying to attack you personally. I just think people were weighing with their opinions. I know from experience sometimes the written word comes off sounding different than you meant. I found out I can't do funny, I was told I sound snarky. Lol. In any event don't get discouraged, I honestly don't think anything was personal. Btw - on this very subject I could tell you a horror story but I am...
