Lookie what I found sitting out with someone's trash on the side of the road. I couldn’t get the car turned around fast enough. I can't believe someone was throwing this away. Or possibly some poor guy is saying, ‘where in the hell is my cooler. I just parked it at the end of the driveway for two minutes, and it disappeared.’ In any event, other than it being a little dirty, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. As is this cooler must have cost at least $50 new. It has wheels and a...

Progress Report: I have the body of the quilt completely sewn, the stripe border cut out and half of the back black border. Tomorrow I will finish cutting out the black border and cut the batting for the border. I will probably also get a good portion of the border quilted tomorrow too.

In WWII a lot of the baseball players went to war. The National League decided to have women play ball, so teams were established. The women teams played each other and the season winners were the Rockford Peaches. There was a movie made about them call "A League of Their Own".

Well, this year, the night before we're going to see Rifftrax Anaconda showing at the movies - they're airing it the day before Halloween. Normally I'd be getting last-minute stuff ready & watching scary movies or something, but I love the Rifftrax stuff, so I'm not missing that! lol

First I want to say that once again this Forum is such a COOL place filled with so many awesome folks I can not tell you. Case in point my new friend lisa48317 decided she did not want the Ghost Girl a neighbor gave her so I asked if I paid shipping could I have it. She agreed but warned me she was not sure it worked. Well I got it today and it does seem to have one issue, it does not extend to full height and as such the head will not push/pull back. I was wondering if any of you...

I usually put in for time off the day before, the day of, and the day after for clean-up, & this year was no exception, but my PTO request got denied this time because our new tag system is going live that week (mind you, they sprung this on us last week, but still....). So I open Thursday, I'm off Halloween & Saturday (& I only got the Saturday cause another manager was kind enough to switch with me). I put in a new PTO request for the 8th & 9th of November off cause dammit, I want some...

Decided to add this fabric into the mix, and also use it as a border. It will mean ripping out a square from what I have already sewn and the added time to put on a border but I think it put the quilt over the top and makes it look more finished.

We started with a little cemetery too. Then, a couple of 4-ft-tall skeletons that we dressed up in different theme-like outfits. They were dressed as a bride and groom, then as beach bums. That led to more skeletons doing more things. Now we change up our theme every year. Another thing that helped us was finding some basic pieces to stage around. A cheap bistro set, wooden crates, whisky barrels, old chairs, things like that from rummage sales. Also look at yard sales and such for fabrics,...

One of my favorite steps in making stones is after I've constructed a nice pristine looking stone, is then ripping it apart. I go around the stone literally tearing chunks out of it with my finger, and making gouges with a knife or screwdriver. Only after I've torn the heck out of it, and made it look like it's rolled down a mountain tied in a bag of cats, do I do my first coat of Drylok. In my opinion, it's the torn up edges, missing chunks, and gouges that makes for a beautifully aged looking...

One of my favorite hobbies, at least when I lived in the Midwest, was wandering through cemeteries taking pictures of the old and interesting stones. I especially love the weathered and badly discolored ones. There's something very beautiful about the natural decomposition of the monuments. The colors and textures are amazing. I literally have hundreds of photographs I've taken of different stones. I really miss the cemeteries. Here in Arizona, they must tie balloons to the dearly departed, and...

We've given out fun sized bars for the past several years. On sale they run two bags for $5.00. Kit Kats will have 21 in a bag. I bought ten bags a few days ago giving me 210 bars, costing me $25.00, which was all I had on me at the time. The forecast looks good, which means we'll likely have 600-700 TOTs, so we'll buy at least 20 more bags. Each kid gets one bar, but we also have a walk through haunt so the candy for many of them is just fluff. They want to go through the haunt!

OMG your sewing skills are AMAZING! Everything is so perfect. Pixie Frog and I pulled out some gift bags we had from last year out of our Halloween closet. I'm "sew" excited.

You are so wonderful and I appreciate your thoughtfulness and kindness more than you can EVER imagine! I got another positive RSVP today AND through a recommendation from AmFatallyYours, I'm working on "fates" for the "Tempt Your Fate" game. I just read a 9 page thread on "bad" fates, so now I've got to come up with some "good" fates. Obviously some of them I'll not be able to use, but I sure am going to go for the ones that will be embarrassing to do in public. Today I pulled out my witch's costume that I plan on wearing. I'd purchased this online back in February/March and have never taken it out of the box it was shipped in until today. I haven't tried it on yet, but will before the night is over. I hope it looks good. The fabric is odd. I don't even know how to describe it. It's heavy. I'm really getting excited now. Each little step closer brings a smile to my face. Again, thank you SO MUCH for your generosity!

Wow, my hat is off to you. You are a true halloweener that would ship home foam. I agree. Many years ago I had the white styrofoam. Much different than the pink stuff. Having fun with this. Have a few left to go and trying to decide. Plan to paint them all in the next few weeks.
