Since many of our halloween props and lighting decor make use of extension cords, I saw this video I thought worth sharing that illustrates how to manage your extension cords for ease of use and to keep them in good condition. I've always been frustrated with mine especially when you're using a 50- or 100-foot cord. Hated the tangles and the difficulty in trying to make sense of the bunch of intertwining cord. Problem solved!

I'm no expert in electrical, far from it, but I don't think you want to cover extension cords you'll be using for a power source. Thinking it could cause them to heat up and lead to issues. I know when we were having an electrician run some electrical lines to our BBQ island for lighting and outlets, he said to follow code the wire gage was important given the length of the run and he couldn't add more lines into the conduit that would be carrying them underground due to overheating concerns....

Scorpion64 not sure when Lilibat will be back posting but in the meantime here's a photo JLWII2000 posted of himself next to the horse. The horse is 74 inches tall, about the same height as the HF member. http://www.halloweenforum.com/general-halloween/147641-2016-home-depot-halloween-thread-53.html#post1866133 I didn't take any photos of anyone standing next to my horse but did take this one of a Costco Crazy Bonez posable skeleton with mask and clothing sitting on our horse.

Wasn't sure if this should go here in General or maybe in Props but just saw an article that lists 75 California Radio Shacks that are closing and wanted to bring it to the attention of fellow California DIYers. Been to a couple of them for parts and kits for halloween projects and will say I will miss the convenience of running into a store to pick up a project box or such. Bay Area looks pretty hard hit by the closures. We have a few Fry's Electronics in the Bay area but not as many and not...

Wow that's fabulous! Great colors and super freaky blacklight painted. What's not to like about this creature from the deep.

Many people who visit or live in the San Jose, Calif area have been to the Winchester Mystery House either for regular tours or their special Halloween haunted themed one. The house was said to be haunted and Sarah Winchester (wife of the gun manufacturer) believe it was because so many people had died from their guns. She consulted with spiritualists and kept adding new construction to the house until her death. I've been in the house and it's floor plan is totally weird, probably in an...

Yep, this forum can be dangerous LOL. Can't begin to tell you how many members here have inspired me with their ideas that I've ended up working into my themes...many themes that I never planned on too! :) That said here's a thread SepiaKeys started last year about Ancient Egyptian themed ideas with lots of great things to tempt you with: http://www.halloweenforum.com/general-halloween/148633-egyptian-scene-ideas-links.html Also try doing a site search for Egyptian. It's been a popular...

Don't know if this would be of interest to you but a few of us here on the forum have bought drapery panels from a company called Ambesonne that are sold thru Amazon. They make these printed fabric panels (drapes, and shower curtains which are less expensive) with great Egyptian tomb themes on them. I have plans for an Egyptian tomb robber theme at some point and picked up two of their drapes. Very nice quality and look way better than something I could draw and paint on my own. I think they...

Since there's interest in the turquoise Lightshow projection spotlight, here's a few pics I took in a dimly lit room. I really like the color difference from the Gemmy LED blue or green spotlights I have. When I bought it I was thinking of using it for a watery look in a tropical setting. Seeing it lit up I also can see using it for an underwater setting with fiji mermaids and creatures of the water world. Not sure how it shows on everyone's computer screens but it is definitely more turquoise...

Thought I'd add that they also have on sale this week (40% off) Gemmy LED Lightshow projector spots and screw-in bulbs (kaleidoscope style) as well as Ashland vintage "filament" style bulbs (incandescent). I posted a few pics of these here: http://www.halloweenforum.com/general-halloween/169114-michaels-2017-a.html#post2105498 BTW you can always use a 40% off Michaels coupon to buy these at this price but normally you are limited to one item per coupon per day, so this sale can save you...

Stopped in Michaels today to take advantage of their 50% floral and greenery sale (thru Sat 3/4). They also have 40% off on some of their lighting as shown below. This includes their Gemmy Lightshow LED projection and screw-in lighting. These are the kaleidoscope style bulbs (not Fire & Ice). I'm not sure but think the turquoise color might be new. Decided to pick up the projector version for my tropical water scenes (14.99 on sale). They also have some the old type incandescent...

Michaels has 50% off all floral and greenery thru Saturday 3/4/17. Great time to pick up white easter lilies or such for your funeral/grave site floral LOL. Dollar Tree and 99 Cent Only Stores can have some great buys on floral for same use but it's more hit or miss and Michaels has a better selection on certain things so I always keep an eye out for their big floral sales. This sale also includes garland, nice for your jungle and cave scenes. Looks like their LED battery operated light strand...
