Here are a few photos of our yard display from the 2016 season!! We moved our cemetery to the back yard, and added the silhouettes to the front. The silhouettes were inspired by Darkrose Manor!!

Try writing formulas on a chalk board wall, fill lots of jars with glowing fluid. I made an faux antique field surgeon's kit something like that could work. Put out some old syringes, and test tubes! Also scatter lots of books and papers all over. I also printed images of antique lobotomy procedure images and hung those in our lab! This is a good scene, lots of fun projects you can add! Looking forward to pics!

Nice work! I thought "Woman in the Woods" would be a great trailer to a movie I would like to see.

Thank u!!!! Yeah, well when we are open it takes over the house, yard, and 3 block radius! :) To be here when all of the actors are getting in make up and costumes is chaos; we are all in various states of eating, dressing, makeup, talking, laughing, we have 3 dogs, house full of our kids friends also join in....man it is nuts! It all comes together, and is a blast for everyone who volunteers and the guests!

Aww LB I am so sorry to hear of your recent losses, that is a lot to cope with in a relatively short period of time. I too said good riddance to 2016, I lost a very good family friend to cancer in March, and have struggled with other serious family issues lately. On the upside Hubby and I have been commissioned by a local dance company to make props for their large dance production piece. I will be starting on the infrastructure for Faun (from Pan's Labyrinth) mask this weekend. My plan...

Thank you nosefuratyou! We started setting up the silhouette display in our front yard the first weekend of September, we knew it would take a few weeks to get lighting right so we needed that scene done early. The rest takes about about 5-6 weeks to set up and believe me we are scrambling until the very last minute! :):) We are open 4 evenings, our first night is more of a soft opening to test everything. The haunt is about 720 lineal feet and takes about 10 minutes to go through. We store 85%...

I have seen this done with silk, also thin plastic painters film, LED lights and fans as well; of course I can't find links either... I got Hubby a Geyser for Christmas...can't wait to fire that up next Halloween!

Thanks so much everyone, I totally appreciate your comments! Yes the haunt has become quite the spectacle :) :) over the years, we love it so much! I think that shows in the detail and effort each season, kids and adults love it! We had over 3000 people through and yet we still manage to stay off the television media grid, which is intentional. I have answered your questions below MM!!

We finally finished the video of this seasons home haunt! It was our most successful to date, record attendance, over 1 ton of food for our local food bank, and 500-600 pet related items and substantial cash donation for the animal rescue agency we volunteer foster for! We are deeply grateful to our amazing volunteers and to our community for all of their support. Hope you enjoy!

I use nail polish to identify the colours, I put a dot on the back side of them. We store them in totes, we do the same Icepick, I use green painters tape and write the contents and adhere it to the tote. Save's me from trying to retrieve the "hard written assigned" tote when packing up.

Satanic - Netflix, over rated with 3 stars IMO, had some pretty good scary moments and overall scenes but boils down to the typical "group of young people making absolutely stupid decisions". Also suffered from some bad acting. One nice touch in particular comes full circle at the end. Not a total waste of time but....

I can't help you that, but I can tell a little about how you can get this to happen with a simpler stereo set up. I mix sound quite often with a free audio editor, "Audacity". It's reasonably easy to use with just a little learning. Basically, you open a stereo soundtrack in the program and you see two separate WAV files. In the control section at the left of each file there is a Pan function, simply click on the marker for one file and slide it all the way to the left, and click the other...
