thanks so much so I wont use a power strip for sure. So your saying if I had to choose 1 of the 2 choose an extension cord? See I will have this indoors I live in a condo building there is a outlet next to the door I really don't want an air compressor next to my door or running an air hose either so was going to use a thin extension cord and maybe try hiding it under the mat we have by the door. I have a few props by my door right now I don't really want to move them to make way for a...

He turned out awesome! I don't want to hijack this thread but I wanted to answer some of the kit questions, :) We typically use the larger pool noodles for the arms and legs. You can make a torso pretty easily out of hardware cloth. To get the lantern handle through the hand I start by pushing a small metal rod carefully through the hand to get a guide hole. Next remove the handle from the lantern, bend one of the end hooks straight, and carefully work the handle through the hand. Once...

I'm willing to bet nothing will happen. From my understanding this isn't even the first time that people were unnecessarily scared of clowns. Things will be back to normal in a year or two. We just like to scare ourselves over nothing.

Hi I have a California air tools air compressor they are real quiet a lot more money but worth it I got a new one today on the cord that you plug it in with there was a yellow warning tag saying don't used an extension cord use a air hose instead? I wanted to know instead can I plug it into one of those 6 outlet power strips and have the power strip itself connected to an extension cord?

I'm not real sure what to think right now. Certainly intrigued. Since everything we saw up until last nights episode was a re-enactment, it's kind of mind boggling to think what will happen. Like Lady Gaga was just an actor playing the part of the witch/Wiccan person. So, is she done in the show now and if that is the case, if that ghost shows up again it will be someone else? Here are some screen shots of the ghosts.

I checked out the site today. Very little left. I did snag a costume for 50% off and shipping was only $7.50. Was hoping to find a few things that I could use or wanted but truthfully most of the desirable stuff was gone. I'll miss this compamy.

We have one we purchased from an Army surplus store years ago. It is without a doubt one of the best scares we have used. We don't use it every year so it doesn't get stale but we plant the actor near or tucked into some bushes and he literally disappears. No one expects it and all he has to do is move a little or make a noise. This scare gave us our first "pants wetter" several years ago. People were exting our yard through a gate and he was sitting on a small three legged camp stool next to...

I posted this in the Halloween TV Shows Sticky before seeing this thread.... We've used our 1.5 car garage as part of our display in the past and it was really fun. Like you mentioned, being able to work and set up out of the elements is great and you can really get creative with such an enclosed space. I think if you found a way to post some kind of sign in your yard a few weeks before sying "haunted garage" or something , you'll generate interest and people who have come to your place for years will certainly enjoy your new endeavor.

That doesn't sound very good at all. Again, they were a really great on line vendor who went above and beyond to accomodate customer requests. Nancy even went out of her way to order a couple things I'd seen elsewhere that they didn't carry. Additionally they carried some really unique things from quality manufacturers. Sad to see companies like this go out.

:)That is ridiculously good! It is so HM, I can't stand it! Nice work, and I agree with jdubbya, the hardware makes the casket. It looks like it just rolled out of the Haunted Mansion, and I love what you did with the zombie lawn hands. The movement, the audio, it is all just perfect. Such a wonderful concept, build and "Ta Da" moment....Yay for you!:D P.S. I really like your 13 hour clock as well.

:)That is so awesome!!! I love how you made your "screen" into a mausoleum... That was a genius move, and it turned out most excellent. The sculpt on it, the skulls and just frames it perfectly. I definitely want to try something similar for next year. I have all these great projections, but they get lost on the silly scrims I have used. I am really impressed and applaud your design and execution. Your TOT's will LOVE it!:D P.S. I love the fire and ice lights used as...

Sounds like you guys need a serious break from all of this so by all means, take a year off and focus on getting well. It's frustrating to realize that something you're passionate about and that you've gotten so much pleasure from is beyond your reach right now but it all of us. My buddy Mark (lewlew on the forum) and I had this same discussion a couple days ago and we've opted to scale back and simplify next year. We'll still do a haunt structure but it's going to be a simple floor...

My own experience with them this year was luke warm, as in the past few years. A lot of the same old stuff. The displays for the most part are well done but wasn't at all impressed with any of the new props with the exception of the gargoyles, which they didn't have for sale. Picked up some bats for our display. Still might go back for a msak or some small accessories I can use but it just seems rather blah to me. Glad you found some stuff. It's always fun to walk around in their stores to get...

Definitley one of the downsides to a themed haunt is having to change everything around year to year. We had sold off many of our zombie releated props and all of our clown stuff after the last two haunt seasons. We'll likely do the same after this year as we purchased a lot of bats, skulls, nice vampire masks, and related items. We'll likely decide on next year's theme in the next couple weeks so we can keep what we can use again and pass along the rest. Anyone wanting some vampire stuff for...
