Some people seem to be having trouble finding a decent/affordable pulley for this build. I think I may go ahead and post here how I sometimes build my own pulleys out of wood. I also posted in the student's thread that for this same prop that I built for myself three years ago, instead of a pulley, I used the empty spool from a spool of fishing line. It has to be modified a bit for use, but anything similar to that should work. It's even possible an empty tomato sauce or cat food can would...

Hi Minksocks, I hate to see you have to spend a lot of money on a plastic pulley. Maybe I should post in the instructor's thread NOW on how I make my own pulleys out of wood, on occasion. And to tell the truth, anything that is similar to a pulley will work. The first one of these I built, I used the empty spool from a spool of fishing line. It had to be modified a bit to work, but anything similar to that should work. And the motor--I'm waiting for the ebay seller to re-start selling...

That or a switch mat of some sort on the seat. I just trigger mine with a remote control. I try to wait until people are ready to have their picture snapped, then turn it on. :)

Great video walkthrough! And yes, those fire and ice lights do add quite a bit to the atmosphere. Nice work!

Somewhere I've got three joke routines that I use for my Joking Skeletons. I found them online several years ago. If you don't have something like that already, I can send them to you. The jokes are pretty corny, but humorous.

Hello. Glad to see you are here too. We have the game on but not really watching it. Caught a few good commercials though. Biggest thing right now is that we are going to be moving. Smaller house with a larger shop space for Spider Hill. Going to be nice to have everything in one place. Outside of that we are still working away on a few new things. Will have our new and improved mounting bases here any time now. Been waiting a while for those so very excited. How are things in your world?...

I have this setup pretty much worked out and already have most of the parts to build them. I even had jigs made so we can quickly center drill the PVC caps where the bearings are inserted. The only piece I have not laid out is the drive arm on the shoulder. The plan is to have those made. To make these consistent and easy to assemble, they need to be the same. I will try to get back to this soon and wrap it up. We are in process of selling our home and buying another so things have been a...

:)Wow, Hilda, these are just fantastic! I've always liked blowmolds, but never had any of my own.But after seeing your display and reading this thread, I feel like I could use a few of them in my Halloween display. (of course with that special "Hilda repainting" for sure) Have you ever thought of posting a "How to repurpose a Blow Mold" thread? I get the stripping part, which I am sure is much more labor intensive that it sounds. But what kind of paints do you use? Is it all plastic adhesive...

UPDATE: Diabolik has offered to give the group a discount on the above mentioned motor kit. I'm not sure how much a discount, but I thought I would mention it and see how much interest there is in doing that. This is the 6 RPM motor, which is a bit slow for this prop. But, the motor could easily be swapped out for a faster one at a later date. (If the builder desires.) The kit would also definitely make the build less complicated.
