  1. Thanks bamtunebam! That's great, they're right here in Houston. Okay, now I just need to save up, plus finish my skeletal horse. I also need to build a storage shed - we're bursting at the seams here for storing props. Your spinning laser tunnel actually wouldn't be bad for breaking down, but the skeletal horse may be challenging. Hope everything is going well with you.
  2. Here is a link to the manufacturer and exact laser I used:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/50-pieces-65...#ht_1870wt_932

Of course you don’t have to order fifty. 20 or 30 may be enough.

I’ve considered the bridge. I just get worried about someone tripping and getting hurt. It is a dark space and wearing a costume in which the TOT can’t see just makes me nervous, but I agree it would be great to see the laser underneath.

    Thanks for the b-day comment.
  3. Hey bamtunebam! No, I had scouted ebay for some low cost laser modules earlier, but didn't have much luck so was going to check that every month until some decent deal came up. The rest of the structure looks doable, but I was playing with the idea of making a very low bridge that would allow the laser beams to also be visible underfoot. Since it could have many supports (as nothing solid would be moving under it), I was also wondering if I could make it have some sway or wobble for more disorientation. But this would probably end up being a 2013 project. For the short term I'm going to make a couple toe pincher coffins and maybe an animated skeletal horse (my big project for 2012). My wife wants to redo all of our tombstones to give them a better look using a dremel, but I'm not looking forward to that.

Hey, I see you just had a birthday. Happy birthday as well as a happy new year!

    Cheers,

  4. Demon,

Hope you are having a good new year. Are you working on your tunnel yet? I’m getting ready to start a new big project. I’m going to start building wall panels. I’m fearful the project may be bigger than it may first seem, but I’ll give it a go.

    Anyway have a great 2012!
  5. Hi bamtunebam. Thanks for the picture comments. We've had the animated witch you'd mentioned for three years without any problems. Her motion and recorded routines are good (unlike some of the other props we'd bought over the years). I'd recommend her if you're thinking of buying one. We bought her at Walmart.
And the Hal O'Ween tombstone is actually just backlit with a CFL, but the light bleeds through the foam and makes it semi glow - a pleasant surprise .
  6. Fantastic! Thanks bamtunebam!
You may want to do a tutorial some day on this. It seems very novel plus really addresses issues on size, safety, and cost at the same time. Not to mention that it looks damned cool too

    Thanks again!

  7. Well it has been a while, but here are a couple links that might help:

    http://www.halloweenforum.com/hallow...ng-tunnel.html

    http://www.halloweenforum.com/member...ex-tunnel.html

    http://www.halloweenforum.com/hallow...trictions.html

I don't think I did a formal tutorial, but ask questions and I'll help where I can.
  8. Hi bamtunebam. You had done a tutorial or prop description of your awesome laser vortex tunnel, but I can't find it even using the forum search tools. Would you mind pointing me to it again? Thanks!

  9. Hi and thanks for the reply. Again, the tunnel with lasers looks great and is a novel approach. Looking forward to hearing how people like it on Halloween!
  10. The room I have it in is 40 foot long. The lasers in the fog are plenty strong so no need for additional mirrors.

I am very happy with it. It was the only way I could figure out how to make a vortex tunnel without having tons of storage. Plus there is nothing for people to fall or trip on.

    Thanks for the comment.
