They didn't do that when I went there yesterday, just fill out a simple form, wait for them to check with the pharmacist, and looked at our insurance card and handed it back within 5 minutes, so they must have gotten their stuff figured out since then (at least at the location I went to). Might be worth a try this year!

Same at my old job. Upper management is almost always out of touch with the rest of the company, and won't budge on their paychecks and perks, but dump the worker bees the minute things get hairy. So sorry you and your coworkers are facing this type of thing right now!

Just putting this out there and no idea how long the promo will last, but we scooped up a creepy talking clown figure after getting our shots! :D I will never miss getting my flu shot, so this was a nice bonus for something I was going to do anyway (and most insurance covers flu shots 100% so it's free anyway).

The posters are on Oriental Trading (they have lots of carnival stuff - I've got them ordered too!) http://www.orientaltrading.com/big-top-terror-posters-with-face-cutouts-a2-13655695-18-0.fltr OP - love the spider girl best, but alll of the props you have so far are pretty darn nifty! :D

Large hula hoops? Maybe 3-4 of them. I have some from the dollar tree that are at least 3 foot rounds, but possibly 4 foot diameter... Cut and then tape together combine together with duct tape to create a stable frame, and then use cardboard strips (also attached with duct tape) to make thin support ribs and then maché over the entire structure. That's what I'd try anyway.

Do it all the week before Halloween (after you've sort of gotten settled in a bit from the actual move) would be my vote. :) (and wow - I think I'd be lucky to get a pumpkin out the same month as a whole house move, so good luck to you!!)

http://www.halloweenforum.com/halloween-props/110640-haunted-fun-house-mirror.html Bookmarked this years ago. :D The box frame he used is concave, but it would be pretty easy to change the curve to an convex one, or even a rippled one to get the distortion effect. Just need to experiment with the angles and how much you can bend the acrylic sheet without breaking.

Frankie's Girl replied to a thread Fog: Damage to books? in Halloween Props
Fog is created by vaporizing water and glycol-based or glycerin-based fluids or through the atomization of mineral oil. This fluid (often referred to colloquially as fog juice) vaporizes or atomizes inside the fog machine. Upon exiting the fog machine and mixing with cooler outside air the vapor condenses, resulting in a thick visible fog. (quote from the wiki page on fog machines) Glycol or glycerin is going to be oily. You would not want this to build up on books or on floors (carpets...

Depending on how thick you need it, the blue/pink foamboard at the big box stores might be good for what you want. It does depend on where you live however. I live in the south, and can't find anything thicker than 3/4 inch, but northern areas that have real winters can usually find 2 inch thick foamboards. They'll have them in the insulation section - building supplies near the lumber and such. Ask for the brand name "foam board insulation" and someone should know where to look. ...

I think chiffon is too thin/transparent for it to work without throwing a double image on the glass (the light is passing completely through it). I've always seen folks on here discussing using dollar store white shower curtains for window projections. Pull it tight so there aren't any wrinkles and it should work just fine.

I most the time don't wear a costume (usually my HF shirt, or other appropriate general Halloween tee-shirt and jeans). The husband sometimes wears costumes, but it's mostly if he feels like standing out in the yard to scare the older kids :D otherwise he wears the same thing as me. I feel like I put up a great display for my area, and me being in costume is not as vital, and I want to be comfortable (we usually sit outside so we can see the kids). I think if you're really into it, then...

I don't use a specific brand. I go by feel of the webbing. You want to get the stuff that feels like a cheap scratchy polyester sweater, not the silky smooth stuff. I usually tear a small hole in a bag if I can't find one already torn to double check the type. The silky stuff is worthless and won't stretch well, but the scratchy stuff is the best and will stretch out well and hold its shape over several weeks. I've found it at Walgreens, Target, CVS, etc... just double check what it feels...

Frankie's Girl replied to a thread Static: First attempt at aging. in Halloween Props
Nice job! Only thing I'd suggest is maybe hitting the whole column (not just the areas around the cracks/bricks) with a watered down black wash, and then dripping some water through it to make the paint run in more natural patterns rather than using a brush exclusively to drag through the paint - looks more realistic when you have the whole column area "aged" and the water will make the paint settle in the natural nooks and crannies like it does in genuine weather-exposed objects. But it...

I think your ideas sound really good, but I would also try using some black poster board and a dollar store white shower curtain, then cut out large eyes (basically fill the whole window with the poster board and cut out sections where the eye would be, hand the shower curtain to block the view into the room, and then light it from behind so the regular light in the room would make it look like shining eyes in the window). Or use the poster board to cut out some spooky silhouettes - like a...

I love Rania's spider legs and think this might make some organic and creepy version of vines: http://www.stopandeattheroses.com/2013/09/the-build-of-giant-spider.html There is also Stillbeast Studios' tutorial: I'd probably try using some dollar store pool noodles (can slice pie wedge sections out of them in random places to get them to bend more) as a base vine and using more dollar store vines to twine over them (not sure about painting?) with some great stuff to help anchor/glue...

I suggest you check out landscape fabric (in the garden center) of some of the big box stores (like Home Depot or Lowes). I've seen some that might be suitable - black, tearable (or cuts with scissors/knife) and might work well. As far as other colors, check for their 40% and up to 60% coupons that sometimes show up for places like JoAnns and Hobby Lobby - they all take competitor coupons too - and checking the clearance sections of those and places like Hancocks Fabrics (I've found nice...

Every year at my childs elementary school we put together a haunted house for the fall festival. We try to keep it low cost but still lots of fun! It is scary but not gory. We always pick a theme and plan around it. this year it is a doll house theme. It will be in the school library so decent sized room but not huge. We use plastic sheeting to make hallways and scenes etc. I am thinking of a bed with an actor and lots of dolls, maybe a rocking chair, hallways with creepy family...
