Frankie's Girl replied to a thread Mechanical: Problem with gemmy figures in Halloween Props
Most all the parts in these props are made of plastic, and the connections/wires that lead to the motors are unfortunately prone to breaking and disconnecting. The motors may be fine, but a tiny little cog or wire might have broken or fallen loose.

Not a lawyer or insurance expert. But me personally, there is no way no how I'd hold a public haunt. Way too much risk involved. I've seen this asked many times and the following is what I remember to be true from the variety for threads on the subject: If you are taking money in - donations included - then you're putting yourself at greater risk for your regular homeowner's insurance denying any coverage in the event you are sued. I don't think that is something you should avoid finding...

For "for sale" posts, a price (can be OBO) needs to be included. Also location is suggested (where is Clearwater? I sure don't know) and shipping or local pickup only preferences. If you are making these to sell, then the post belongs in our for sale by merchant section and there are restrictions on posting frequency (please refer to the sticky thread rules in that section) Also, that looks very much like the ticket booth design originally created by Forum member Keithcorcoan:...

Anyone doing circus/carnival theme might want to check out local Kroger stores for their summer clearance for their globe lights. I picked up some lovely colored globe lights (10 on the strand and about 20 foot) for 75% off making them $3.75 each. I have some colored and clear from last year and they're awesome especially for the price. They had other slightly elongated ones (both clear and colored) for a bit more money but they might have been longer strands too.

Frankie's Girl replied to a thread Prop Showcase: Sam from Trick r' Treat in Halloween Props
I made a full grown man this costume (the husband). I used a beachball and paper machéd a large globe, and then used a pattern (cut out from paper) to figure out how to make the fabric around the rounded form... Found it: http://www.halloweenforum.com/halloween-costume-ideas/110362-sam-trick-r-treat-my-costume-build-completed.html Most of the small Sam figures I'd read about were either made using a pajama pattern or you could try to find a child's footie pajamas set at a thrift store...

Been out of this for several years, but time to get back in. :) No glitter or gory please! My two main themes are old school haunted house/grave yard and circus/carnival. Anything from those themes would be wonderful. Would love to find some old circus posters in particular but they are hard to find! I had someone one year (HermanSecret!) make me a shiatsu grave grabber and I LOVED that, so anything that moves is also super as I am a bit mechanically challenged, but I love things...

MOD NOTE: I did a search and there was already an existing 2016 TJ Maxx thread, but no existing Home Goods or Marshalls yet. (there was already a At Home thread, but that is a completely different company). As it was pointed out, these three are sister stores, and likely to carry the exact same items, so renamed the original thread to included all three stores, and combined the newest thread. :)

You'll probably need to experiment to see what glows the brightest, but I'd go check out the dollar store for either glow sticks (might need several per pumpkin to achive a decent glow), or some sort of battery operated light - they carry all manner of book lights, LED clip on lights, flashlights, etc... The only issues would be that you'd need a light for each bucket, and that could get a bit expensive if you end up with 20+ pumpkins needing to be lit up. You also could get some LED (they...

I've tried to snag some of their marketing posters/displays every year, and I'm always too late - they do sometimes give them away the day after Halloween, but they seem to be spoken for as soon as they go up. :( Love seeing all of these - but I would dearly love the vintage stuff from 2003 - that is especially AWESOME artwork!

Hi Kirsti V, Wanted to let you know that as you run an Etsy shop, you are considered a merchant and any posts regarding selling items will need to go in the merchant section. You're also allowed 1 sell/merchant post every 30 days. Any extra postings may be moved or deleted per the moderator/admin discretion. I've shifted this post over to the merchant sales section. Please do review the forum rules for this section located at the top of the forum section. Good luck with your new...

Very nice job and I love how you came up with some easy to do workarounds like the baseball cap to secure the mask to. I LOVE when others use unconventional hacks.

I agree with the others. You have enough on your plate to take the year off and maybe go see some cool stuff around the area. But if you just have to have a party, you could always use the construction as part of the decor - having skeletons in hard hats, sawing boards (and each other) in half, nailing themselves to the wall... :D

My pet peeve about Halloween is mean people. And people that use Halloween as a reason to get wasted and "party" in very vulgar or tasteless costumes. I get sexy costumes, but use a little imagination and you can still do sexy with a little class and imagination.

According to the forum rules, price must be listed. If you don't have a firm number, you can put "or best offer" (OBO), but you have to post a price. It would also be a good idea to post zip code and box sizing if you will be shipping, or let folks know it is local pickup only. http://www.halloweenforum.com/for-sale-trade-by-individuals/56500-important-read-before-posting-no-merchants-updated-oct-3-2010-a.html

Ohhh. I am not sure I'd want to take those through in my bags because you never know how well TSA will get that they are just props and not freak out about things that look like human skulls. :D Are they paper maché? If so, it should be obvious, and I'd just make sure to mention you have some Halloween decorations in your bag and tell them you have no problem if they want to take them out to examine. Be VERY polite and smile and I'm pretty sure they'll not get weird about it. Good luck!! :)
