I think this is how you should be using scene setters - great looking haunt there! :D I'm sure your new haunt looks great, but you had a good eye even using the mass-produced stuff.

I used a wiper motor for mine. Attached it to a piece of wood, ran a piece of thick wire over to the runner of the chair and looped it over a screw and hid the motor behind a bookshelf and it looked great. Lots and lots of good threads and links for this: http://littlekeylime.com/hill_house_haunt/hauntedrockingchair.htm http://www.scary-terry.com/rockchair/rockchair.htm http://www.halloweenforum.com/halloween-props/82931-rocking-chair-finished.html

SCORED bigtime today. Found this on craigslist and pretty much ran to get it ASAP. We're calling her Persephone, and she is an old school one with real glass eyes (they're green) and eyelashes - got her for $50. She even has some age cracks across her chest and a some bumps and scratches that add to the creep factor. I big pink puffy heart love her. So very, very, very happy!! :D Not sure exactly how I'll use her for our carnival. I pulled out a few prop/masks just to play...

Will pin this and the main reaper thread to the top of General Halloween section until the reaping is over with to facilitate it being easier to find. ;)

I did this back in 2009 - they are my EYE-ris plants. :) http://www.halloweenforum.com/halloween-props/79331-eye-rises-plant.html Michaels clearance flower arrangements (single stem in resin water) with the center of the rose pulled out and a foam eyeball inserted - not glued - so I can change the angle of the eyeball randomly. Liked doing that so they were looking in a different direction if someone walked by a few minutes later, it gave the effect of the flower having been looking...

I have a gemmy mummy that we set up a few weeks before the party just because. He's motion activated and I forget every year to turn him off. So at some point during the night when I get up to go get a drink or go to the bathroom, I pass by and he starts singing or muffledly asking for help... I shriek every darn time!

Classical, she could do Girl With Pearl Earring by Vermeer (just need the headscarf brown dress/jacket, pearl earrings, no makeup, no fixing hair since it's covered by the scarf). Piet Mondrian inspired dress (color blocks of red, blue and yellow with black and white ONLY). Or she could go as Andy Warhol - black turtleneck/pants, white blond choppy wig, chunky black frame glasses and a Campbell's soup can (one of his more famous images). This is a basic look for a kid, but they...

Very weird. Was really hoping it was just that windows update screwed up some folks, but if there is something screwy with the forum, us mods don't know about any changes. So sorry everyone! :( Fingers crossed this works itself out for everyone soon.

Just an FYI: We have no information whatsoever that the site was even sold and nothing has changed with any of the forum software/hardware at this time that we have been informed about. The more likely issue is going to be with changes/updates in your individual computer's operating systems.

I've tried to see if an existing thread already had been active, but so far it's just specific items - multiple threads on their skeletons, witches, gargoyles - so I'm creating this to put all the 2016 Costco threads together. Merging to make it easier for all to find Costco items in one place (and lessen the numerous threads regarding their items).

Frankie's Girl replied to a thread Static: Circus Tent in Halloween Props
Dollar store tablecloths, stapled together? Depends on how large you need it to be. I made a tent effect for my living room vaulted ceiling using about 10 red/white tablecloths with a hula hoop as the centerpoint and pinned them to the ceiling but with enough slack to allow them to billow down a bit, but you could do the same thing with a peak - gather all at one end, split in half so half goes to one side, half to the other and secure so it drapes like a tent? I also did make some...

I used lengths of black cloth, with strips cut into it and shredded, and just draped it like the moss you see in the trees. Same effect at night as far as I was concerned.

Yarn. Fuzzy yarn... works beautifully. I got a skein of black/white fuzzy yarn on clearance, and made the coolest looking web out of it. The pic doesn't do it justice.

I can't find them on their site, but I was just at At Home (used to be Garden Ridge) and they had very small LED light (the fairy light sized) strands, battery op, swear they were using the button cell batteries. They came in purple, orange (really looked peach/pink) and warm white. They were hanging on the ends of the Halloween section aisles, in small 4" x 6" boxes I believe. I don't remember the price or the actual length tho. I've also seen these microdot battery op lights at Target in...

For the record, I am not a shill for Spirit. :D Spirit hasn't been a sponsor/advertiser on this forum for a little while now (almost a year at this point). Just an FYI. Spirit doesn't make any of their props that I'm aware of. They purchase from other vendors, so they have no real way of knowing that something they decided to carry is a blatant ripoff of someone's original prop. If someone contacts them regarding their prop and can prove that the vendor was copying someone else's work,...

Frankie's Girl replied to a thread Green ooze in Halloween Props
I'd use great stuff foam instead of hot glue (it would look more like toxic ooze than drippy hot glue). It can be painted however you'd like after. I would paint a base coat of regular paint before using the very expensive wildfire tho. Just be careful with the great stuff; it will permanetly mess up anything it comes in contact with, and it's a total pain to get off skin, so wear gloves and old crummy clothes and put down a tarp or something till it's all dry.
