Kind of got a late start on this, but I'm very excited about joining this thread! Not sure what I need to do now, but I know that I am supposed to post some ideas about what I am looking for. That part is easy. I am not into cutsie, but I also don't like full blown gore. Guess I fall somewhere in the middle. I like things that you might find in a haunted house, like candlesticks, gargoyles, haunted mirrors, skeletons, black lace tablecloths, that kind of thing. Also on the look-out for...

Rick, I LOVE that idea. My husband was thinking about dressing up as Frankenstein (he's 6'4") and standing like one of those stand-up photos in a corner until the opportunity to grab someone walking by came up, but I think the fog is a great idea and would make the whole "theater" creepier. Then when we show the 3 stooges meet Frankenstein, Jack could walk out into the theater. Do you think that the fog would make the cement floor in the garage too slippery?

I've been able to find a lot of my fluorescent tape and paint at Blacklight.com, but I don't know if they sell it by the gallon.

First time to respond, so here goes. Likes: Scary, but not gory. Love cemetery, haunted house items like candlesticks, statues, etc. Love thrift store finds that can be "tweaked" to fit a haunted house theme. Skulls, Voodoo, zombies, vampires, skeletons, witches are always good. Dislikes: Glittery things, cutsie things, Jason or Friday the 13th stuff. (Too overdone) . Also, I don't dislike them, but I have enough of spiders and bats.

Great name ideas, guys. Much better than what we had come up with! Any suggestions of what other props we need to have in either the lobby or theater itself? I forgot to mention that hanging on either side of the movie screen will be long read curtains with fringe that my grandmother had in her house, for some reason. I'm also going to make a valance to go across the top of the screen and curtains out of foamboard that will have foam skulls carved into it looking every which way at the...

We've decided that this year we are going to create a haunted movie theater in our garage/carport. We' are going to enclose the carport and turn it into the theater's lobby/snack bar with gummy worms and bugs, "rotten" candy, popcorn, etc. All of the theater employees will be wearing skull masks as part of their "uniforms" and the walls will be covered with movie posters of horror movies from the Shining to Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. Very Kitschie with red velvet furniture and a skull...

Like I said in the thread, I really have to sell my bikes first. I know a bit about engines, but I worry about the endless search for parts. Right now, I have a contact down in California with a running 1952 Caddy, I just need to come up with $4,000. I know I can get at least that much from my bikes, but I don't know if I can do it before he gets another offer.

So, a running classic hearse from the 1940s or early 50s for around $4K-$5K would be perfect. I know that'a asking a whole lot, but that's my "dream purchase".

If you could talk to your friend at Reindeer Manor, that would be great. I'm not opposed to going to Texas for a hearse. Especially if it's the right hearse at the right price! What I'm really hoping for is a classic hearse/ambulance from the 1940s.
