If only a front yard, then, I totally agree, being less suddles is better. Myself, my home haunt, I have (when Mother Nature lets me) a tunnel/maze, a big walkthrought and have a tons of kids and tots coming throught, so lighting is very important for people to see where they are walking. I know if I am driving around in October, and see some colored lights far away, I'll drive to it quickly, knowing it's might be a haunt to see. Always use white or bright colors in black light lighted rooms. dark colors props won't show! 05-21-2013, 04:42 AMMany haunts have this problem and don't realise it, not enough lighting! You may have the best haunt and props, but if no ones can see them, what is the point. Here is a quick giude into lighting and what to use. I use lots of different lights, as you can see in my latess youtube link below. 05-17-2013, 01:52 PMWe actually did the carnevil theme last year, which is what spurred the whole idea of a neighborhood event. I want to do something else this year, I think. I really like the idea of working the street by doing smaller venues all the way up to our big haunt. My problem, I had the amazing place ( an entire 1920's village, 23 buildings and such) but the people working there (city people), after planning everything and giving me the grean light, decided to take over at last second, cut the haunt to 3 buildings, remove any scary or scenes I had planned, apart from my Spider house. For anyone who didn't know the original concepts, it was an okay haunt, but seriously, I learned to never deal with city people ever again.37 replies | 750 view(s)
